‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Unveils a New Look at Artemis and Zoë Nightshade, and the Hunters Mean Business
Few corners of Rick Riordan’s world have been as eagerly awaited by fans as the Hunters of Artemis. After two seasons of summer quests, ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ is heading into colder, darker territory. A fresh look at Artemis and her lieutenant Zoë Nightshade shows just how different the mood is about to get.
The series has built its audience steadily across its first two seasons. Season 2 adapted ‘The Sea of Monsters’ and ended with the return of Zeus’s daughter Thalia Grace, who plays a big part in what comes next. With filming wrapped in early 2026, Disney+ has been drip-feeding first-look images ahead of the new season.
The latest image shows Dafne Keen as Artemis and Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade, flanked by another Hunter. They stride through a snow-dusted setting in silver-gray outfits, with bows and quivers slung over their shoulders. It is a striking visual for a season that, according to reports, takes place in winter rather than summer.

Keen and Chaudry were first announced in August 2025 for recurring roles. Keen, known for ‘Logan’, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, ‘His Dark Materials’ and ‘The Acolyte’, plays Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt. Chaudry, whose credits include ‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’ and ‘The Breadwinner’, plays Zoë.
Artemis is described as regal and somewhat distant, preferring the wilderness to Olympus’s politics, with her immortal Hunters as her only constant companions. Zoë is first among those Hunters and has stood at Artemis’s side for more than 2,000 years. She is a disciplined warrior who can be stern but is deeply loyal and willing to make sacrifices for the greater good.
At D23, Keen said she is a big Greek mythology fan and was thrilled to take on the role. Chaudry said that bringing Zoë to life meant understanding a backstory spanning several thousand years.
The new season adapts ‘The Titan’s Curse’, Rick Riordan’s third novel, and premieres November 20 on Disney+. It marks the first time the book has been brought to the screen in live action. The story kicks off after Annabeth Chase disappears, while the Oracle of Delphi delivers a Great Prophecy that will determine Olympus’s future.
Percy (Walker Scobell) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) must team up with the Hunters of Artemis to stop the Titan army’s resurgence. The goddess herself is also missing, believed to have been kidnapped, so the search is a race against time. Holt McCallany plays the Titan Atlas, the season’s powerful antagonist.
For book readers, the casting adds a neat layer, since Zoë is a former Hesperide and the daughter of Atlas. That gives her story extra weight when the Hunters come face to face with the Titan.

Executive producer Dan Shotz has repeatedly teased the Hunters, saying the costume and makeup work on them took considerable effort to get right. The new image suggests that effort paid off, with a cohesive, battle-ready look that feels distinct from the demigods of Camp Half-Blood. Riordan himself said the season would bring fan favorites like the Hunters and Nico di Angelo to the screen for the first time.
The season also welcomes Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie as the di Angelo siblings. Tamara Smart has been promoted to series regular as Thalia, who reenters the story and creates what the cast has described as a bitter rivalry among her, Percy and Luke. Scobell has gone as far as calling it the most book-accurate adaptation the show has attempted so far.

The teaser footage shown at D23 featured Annabeth being taken and Percy ready to do whatever it takes to rescue her. It also gave fans a glimpse of the Hunters, the Ophiotaurus, the Nemean Lion and a Talos prototype. With Artemis and Zoë now fully revealed, the main players for the winter quest are in place.
Disney+ promises a bigger and darker adventure, and early images suggest it will deliver. The Hunters in particular look set to be among the season’s biggest talking points when the full series lands.
