‘VisionQuest‘ has spent the past few weeks turning Vision’s fractured mind into a full-blown mystery, and the Marvel series is now entering its home stretch. Created by showrunner Terry Matalas, the 8-episode run is designed as the closing chapter of a trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’.

The story follows the White Vision, played by Paul Bettany, as he struggles to regain his humanity and his memories after the events of ‘WandaVision’. James Spader returns as Ultron, and the supporting cast includes Ruaridh Mollica, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy. Early reviews were largely warm, with one critic calling it a superior superhero series that stands alongside ‘WandaVision’ and another feeling the second half loses some steam.

Marvel Studios has now released a short vertical teaser for the next chapter. The clip runs about 19 seconds and frames a man’s face behind a closed metal lattice gate, with a single word fading in over the image: tonight. It is a minimalist tease for an episode that fans have been theorizing about all week.

Episode 7, titled “Immolation,” premieres Tuesday, Nov. 3 on Disney+ at 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET. UK viewers can expect it at 2 a.m. GMT on Wednesday, Nov. 4, which is an hour later than last week because of the US clock change.

The episode also gets a week entirely to itself. The first 6 episodes arrived in pairs across 3 weeks, while the final 2 are being released weekly, with the finale, “Forever,” scheduled for Nov. 10. Reported runtimes for those last 2 episodes are about 62 minutes and 68 minutes, which would make them the longest MCU television episodes to date.

‘VisionQuest’ Just Humbled ‘Wonder Man’ and Marvel Fans Can’t Look Away

Recent episodes saw Ultron escape and strike an unexpected alliance with Jocasta, whose technology could allow her to transform humanity. Vision, meanwhile, managed to rescue Thomas Shepherd from Madripoor. The pieces are now in place for a confrontation that has been building since the premiere.

The biggest open question is the identity of the Client, the mysterious figure pulling strings around Vision. This character has hinted at wanting to make Vision more real, although what that means remains unclear. Coverage notes that the Client does not appear to be Ultron or Jocasta, both popular early theories, and that it has been confirmed the Client is not Billy Maximoff.

One fan theory has gained the most traction heading into tonight. It suggests the Client could be Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch and the MCU’s first synthezoid, possibly planning to take over Vision’s body. The idea draws support from how Ultron briefly inhabited Vision earlier in the series.

None of this is confirmed. One cast listing does include a Jim Hammond role with the actor still to be revealed, which keeps the speculation alive. A cameo tied to ‘Iron Man’ has also been floated, with Faran Tahir’s Raza among the names mentioned for the closing episodes.

Bettany has described the series as a story about fathers and sons and about intergenerational pain, with plenty of humor and action mixed in. That framing makes the Client’s interest in Vision feel personal rather than purely plot-driven. It also explains why so many of the series’ biggest scenes revolve around who gets to shape Vision’s identity.

The timing adds extra weight. Fans are already debating whether the series will be required viewing before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, and a late reveal could change how the show is remembered. With just 1 episode left after tonight, the teaser’s single-word promise carries more pressure than a typical weekly drop.

For viewers who have followed this trilogy since ‘WandaVision’, the next hour feels like a threshold. Whether it delivers a major reveal, a shocking twist or simply a bridge to the finale, “Immolation” is positioned as the episode that will set the tone for how Vision’s story ends.

Who do you think is the mysterious Client in VisionQuest?
