Outback Steakhouse Joins the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Marketing Blitz With a Cryptic Green Tease
Doctor Doom’s takeover of the marketing calendar is now impossible to miss. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arriving on Dec. 18, Marvel Studios has been rolling out brand partnerships at a pace that feels like its own multiverse event.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and is the first to unite the Avengers and the X-Men, under directors Joe and Anthony Russo. It opens the same day as ‘Dune: Part Three’, a showdown that has been dubbed Dunesday.
Along the way, a growing list of companies has built campaigns around the film. Dunkin’, Oreo, M&M’s and Pop Secret have all introduced or teased promotions, while Williams F1 and Major League Baseball have each released their own Doom-themed teasers.
The newest name to join the pile is Outback Steakhouse, which has begun teasing a collaboration tied to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. The 14-second teaser is a dark, minimalist clip in which a glowing green line of light flares across a black screen, echoing the green-lit look of Doom’s marketing.
Outback hasn’t shared any details about what fans can expect, and the clip doesn’t mention a menu item or a launch date. It simply sets the stage and leaves the guessing to viewers.
The steakhouse setting makes it a different kind of partner from the fast-food chains that have signed on so far. That could mean a more upscale or event-driven promotion, though nothing has been confirmed.

Outback is arriving in the middle of a crowded field. Dunkin’ is launching an ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ menu on Nov. 4 that includes 6 themed drinks, new and returning donuts and limited-edition merchandise, with Doctor Doom’s mask turned into a $14.99 Munchkins tin.
Doctor Doom gets 2 drinks of his own, Doom’s Orders Energy and the Doom Cloud Latte, while the heroes are represented by items like the Iced Captain’ccino. Dunkin’ has also said more surprises are coming in early November.
Burger King has teased its own spread in a 15-second spot that shows director’s chairs labeled with menu items. They include a Doomsday Whopper, a Magneto Crunchy Chicken Burger, Shuri Vibranium Fries, Thor Thunder Nuggets and a drink called Fantastic Fizz.
Jack in the Box also joined the fun with a 19-second teaser that showed its mascot sitting on a throne that mirrors Doom’s lair. That tease turned into the Doomsday Dipping Box, which comes with 3 sauces including a mystery flavor called Assemble Sauce and 1 of 8 blind-bagged puzzle magnets.
For Marvel, the strategy makes sense. Naming menu items after characters hands fans a phrase to repeat, and a countdown to a release date gives limited-time menus a story to tell week by week.
The approach also lets the film’s huge ensemble spread across the food aisle. Other campaigns have spotlighted characters like Black Panther, Gambit, Mystique, The Thing and Thor, showing how wide the multiverse lineup reaches.
It also keeps the campaign visually cohesive, since one of the most recognizable images from the marketing so far shows Doom on his throne, bathed in green and yellow light from the stained-glass windows behind him.
The promotions extend beyond restaurants, too. Pop Secret has released limited-edition packaging with a ticket reward and a New York City sweepstakes, and the film has an ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ edition of WWE Worlds Collide set for Dec. 15.

With no details revealed, fans are already guessing what Outback might serve. Given the pattern set by Dunkin’, Burger King and Jack in the Box, a themed menu item or limited-time bundle seems like a reasonable guess, though that is speculation.
What the teaser does make clear is that Doom will be front and center. The green glow echoes the visual language Marvel has used across its posters and trailers, from throne rooms to stained-glass backdrops.
Until Outback says more, the best clue is the timing. With the release date only weeks away, the chain has little time to reveal its plans before the film hits theaters.
What do you think Outback Steakhouse's Avengers: Doomsday collaboration will include?
