First ‘VisionQuest’ Finale Trailer Arrives Ahead of Vision’s Last Chapter
‘VisionQuest‘ has been rolling out weekly on Disney+, and its story is now close to the end. The series is the third and final entry in a trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’. It arrives 5 years after that story began, although the history between Vision and Wanda Maximoff reaches back to ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
Paul Bettany returns as the synthezoid hero, and James Spader is back as Ultron for the first time in more than a decade. Bettany previously voiced J.A.R.V.I.S. before bringing Vision to life on screen. Reviews have praised the pairing, with Forbes highlighting a thoughtful take on love, loss, identity and rebirth, while Den of Geek described Spader’s Ultron as avuncular but still genocidal.
Now Marvel has released the first trailer for the season finale. The 26-second clip is posted by Marvel Studios and carries the Disney+ logo. A gray-haired, bearded man in glasses has red beams of light sweeping across his face while a bald man in light-colored clothing leans over him in a bright white room.
The trailer does not explain who is in the room or what is happening. It arrives after 3 weeks of double-episode drops, with the show now settled into a single weekly release.

The series takes place after ‘WandaVision’, in which Wanda Maximoff created the twins Tommy and Billy and also resurrected Vision, who died when Thanos pulled the Mind Stone from his head in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Spader has said Ultron both loves and hates Vision.
At the start of the series, Vision has been posing as a human and working at a pub under the name Sherwood Ellis. He is a rebooted Vision who escaped the people who wanted to weaponize him. He has been in hiding, searching for new meaning, and consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including Friday, Edith, Jarvis and Ultron. His quiet life ends when a bounty on his head sends him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son reincarnate.
Forbes noted that one early exchange goes back to the last conversation between Vision and Ultron in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. As he evades capture, Vision must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence and unravel the mystery of his young companion.
The finale is titled ‘Forever’, and GamesRadar reports that it runs for over an hour, a bumper-sized episode compared with the rest of the season. Terry Matalas, who created the series, is listed as the finale’s director. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Bettany, Matalas and Jac Schaeffer.
Ruaridh Mollica plays Thomas, the boy at the center of Vision’s journey. Todd Stashwick appears as Paladin, and Diane Morgan plays the Handler. Orla Brady voices F.R.I.D.A.Y., Emily Hampshire is E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy is also part of the cast.
T’Nia Miller plays Jocasta, and Lauren Morais appears as Lisa Molinari. The AI characters also include D.U.M.-E, played by Henry Lewis, and U, played by Jonathan Sayer.
Not every critic has been fully convinced by the setup. Den of Geek noted that ‘VisionQuest’ sits in an awkward spot as the third part of a trilogy, and that its first episode spends much of its time catching viewers up. It has been 5 years since audiences last saw Vision in ‘WandaVision’, and 11 years since his debut in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
Others have been more enthusiastic. JoBlo said the show lets Spader improve on his original performance as Ultron, and described the shared screen time of Bettany and Spader as the highlight of the series.

The 8-episode season premiered on October 13 with a double-episode drop, followed by more double drops and then single episodes. The finale is set for Tuesday, November 10 at 9 p.m. ET on Disney+.
Marvel has also confirmed a companion podcast that will be released at the same time as the finale on Disney+, Marvel’s YouTube channel and podcast platforms. Bettany, Spader, Mollica and Matalas will react to the series on it.
