Stranger Things is more popular than ever as fans get ready for the final season. According to Netflix’s latest Engagement Report, viewership of the show has been rising steadily throughout mid-2024, and now all four seasons combined have been watched for over 400 million hours in just the first half of 2025.

In total, Stranger Things picked up 404.10 million viewing hours between January and June 2025.

Season 3 was added to Netflix on July 4, 2019. Season 4 came in two parts: Volume 1 arrived on May 27, 2022, and Volume 2 followed on July 1, 2022. Even after all these years, the show keeps pulling in huge numbers.

In Netflix’s Engagement Report #5, released this week, the breakdown of the numbers shows how popular each season remains. The first season of Stranger Things was watched for 97.7 million hours and reached about 14.3 million views.

Season 2 brought in 88.6 million hours with 11.2 million views. Season 3 wasn’t far behind, with 82.3 million hours watched and 10.9 million views. Season 4 led the pack with 135.5 million viewing hours.

The final season, Stranger Things 5, is set to release later this year on Netflix. It’s planned to come out in three parts. Two volumes will arrive on November 26 and December 25, 2025, with the big finale dropping on December 31, just before the year ends. The season will have eight episodes in total. It’s being produced by the Duffer brothers, who created the show, alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.

The new season picks up a year after season 4, taking place in the fall of 1987. The story follows the main group of friends as they try to stop Vecna, who returned after the Rifts opened in Hawkins.

But their mission gets harder when the military shows up, targeting Eleven. With the anniversary of Will Byers’s original disappearance coming up, the group faces their most dangerous battle yet. This time, they’ll have to face something even more powerful than Vecna.

The main cast returns for this final adventure. Fans will see familiar faces like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Amybeth McNulty, who appeared briefly in the last season, is now a regular cast member. Linda Hamilton also joins the series for the final season.

With so much excitement building up and fans revisiting earlier episodes, Stranger Things is once again dominating Netflix’s global charts. The numbers are clear: viewers are ready to return to Hawkins one last time.
