Beavis and Butt-Head are returning with more dumb jokes, weird adventures, and heavy metal nonsense. Comedy Central has announced that the third season of the revived Beavis and Butt-Head series will premiere on September 3, 2025.

This will be the third season of the current revival and the eleventh season overall in the show’s long history.

The first two revival seasons were released on Paramount+, but back in June 2024, Paramount confirmed that the show would be switching over to Comedy Central for future episodes. Now fans won’t need a streaming service to keep up with the two cartoon idiots, just cable.

A brand-new trailer for the season was also released. In the trailer, Beavis and Butt-Head get what looks like a shoutout from Metallica in a dream sequence. Of course, it gets ridiculous fast. The two try to figure out how much it would cost to buy the band and then randomly throw a gold bar at James Hetfield’s head. Classic Beavis and Butt-Head chaos.

The revival is actually the second time the show has been brought back. The original Beavis and Butt-Head ended in 1997 after seven seasons on MTV. It came back for an eighth season in 2011. There have also been two movies: Beavis & Butt-Head Do America in 1996, and Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe, which dropped on Paramount+ in 2022. Their spinoff character Daria got her own show, Daria, which aired for five seasons on MTV.

The show is created by Mike Judge, who also voices Beavis, Butt-Head, and other characters. Judge is an executive producer on the new season along with Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg. The animation team from Titmouse is also back, with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio all on board as producers.

This isn’t the only project Mike Judge is bringing back. He’s also reviving King of the Hill, the animated series he co-created with Greg Daniels. That show is getting a 10-episode run on Hulu, starting August 4.

So yeah, Mike Judge’s weird, animated world is alive and well. And soon, Beavis and Butt-Head will be laughing, yelling, and breaking stuff on TV all over again.
