Jurassic World: Rebirth is proving the dinosaurs still have serious box office bite, even if critics aren’t all that impressed. As of July 27, 2025, the film has earned a massive $718.4 million globally, with $301.5 million coming from the U.S. and Canada and another $416.8 million overseas, according to Box Office Mojo.

Heading into its July release, Jurassic World: Rebirth was expected to open strong, and it didn’t disappoint. Reports predicted the film would bring in between $100–125 million during its five-day opening run in North America.

Deadline Hollywood had slightly higher hopes, aiming for a $115–135 million range domestically. Just days before release, Deadline adjusted those numbers again, forecasting as much as $260 million globally for opening weekend alone.

The film kicked things off with $30.5 million on its first day, and that quickly bumped up projections. By July 5, experts expected a $145.3 million five-day total domestically. And they were pretty close.

The movie brought in $147.8 million in the U.S. and Canada over the Fourth of July holiday stretch, including $92 million over the core three-day weekend. Worldwide, it made $322.6 million in those first five days.

In its second weekend, Rebirth slowed down a bit, bringing in $40.3 million and landing in second place behind Superman. Even with that drop, the dino franchise continued to rake in cash worldwide.

Audience reactions have been mixed. CinemaScore gave it a “B,” which isn’t bad but also not great for a big blockbuster. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 51% of critics gave it a positive review.

The site’s summary of the film reads: “Going back to basics with rip-roaring set pieces and fossilized clichés, Jurassic World Rebirth doesn’t evolve this prehistoric franchise but does restore some of its most reliable DNA.” Over on Metacritic, it scored 50 out of 100, based on 54 reviews, basically saying the movie is right in the middle of the road.

So even though critics weren’t blown away, moviegoers still showed up in big numbers. That $718 million global haul proves there’s still plenty of life in this Jurassic franchise.
