Did We Just Get the Greatest ‘Spider-Man’ Behind-the-Scenes Shot Ever?
The next Spider-Man movie is on its way, and it’s already creating a lot of buzz. Titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this upcoming superhero film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to be the fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland. It follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and will be the 38th film in the MCU lineup.
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are teaming up again to bring this story to life. The movie is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who is working from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same writers behind the previous Spider-Man films. Alongside Holland, the cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando.
Sony had started developing this fourth MCU Spider-Man movie back in August 2019 while No Way Home was still in the works. Producer Amy Pascal revealed in November 2021 that Brand New Day was meant to kick off a new trilogy of Spider-Man films with Holland. By early 2023, the writing team was confirmed, and by October 2024, Destin Daniel Cretton was brought on to direct. The movie’s title was officially announced in March 2025.
We already have loads of photos of Holland on set, as well as videos and even a spoiler or two, depending on how you look at it, but social media users managed to capture what appears to be the greatest BTS shot we could ever imagine:

Filming began in August 2025, with the production taking place mainly in Glasgow, Scotland, and at Pinewood Studios in England. Glasgow’s city center, places like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, has been transformed to look like New York City for some of the scenes and action sequences.
This location shooting marks a return to a more traditional filming style for Holland, who said he was excited to shoot on location again after No Way Home had to use mostly soundstages because of the pandemic.
The production has already given fans a glimpse of what’s to come. Set photos from Glasgow showed armored vehicles with a red demon logo on them. Bradley Russell from Total Film noticed that the symbol looked like the one used by the Inner Demons gang, which in the comics is led by Mister Negative.
This has sparked speculation that Mister Negative could be a villain in the movie.
The movie is planned for release on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. With the production underway and exciting new details emerging, fans can’t wait to see what Spider-Man: Brand New Day will bring to the big screen.
