‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Teaser Drops, Tom Holland Says “No Pressure”
Spider-Man is swinging back into action with a brand new adventure. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to feature Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and the 38th film in the MCU overall.
Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios are teaming up once again, with Sony Pictures handling the release. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same team who worked on the earlier Spider-Man films. Alongside Holland, the movie stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando.
The movie has been in the works for a long time. Plans for a fourth Spider-Man film started as far back as 2019, while work on the story kicked off in late 2021. The title was officially announced in March 2025. Filming began in August 2025, with location shoots in Glasgow, Scotland, and soundstage work scheduled for Pinewood Studios in England. The release date is set for July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
A teaser for the film recently dropped, and Holland shared a behind-the-scenes look from what he called his “fourth day one” on the Spider-Man set. Speaking to fans, he said the energy was incredible, especially because it was the first time they’d had fans present from the start of filming.
Holland was seen meeting young fans and greeting his co-stars. He also laughed about the challenges of filming in a busy city compared to working in front of a green screen, saying, “no pressure.”

Production kicked off on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow under the working title Blue Oasis. Cinematographer Brett Pawlak, who has worked with Cretton before, returned for this film. Filming in Glasgow lasted longer than expected, running until August 26, with scenes shot in locations like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, which were transformed into New York City.
According to reports from Glasgow World, one set included a bust shaped like a rhinoceros head, hinting at the possible appearance of the comic book villain Rhino. Total Film also noted that armored vehicles on set carried a red demon logo similar to the Inner Demons gang from the comics, which is connected to the villain Mister Negative.
Other filming locations included Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London, for scenes shot on August 7. After location filming wraps, production will move to Pinewood Studios for soundstage work.
