Netflix brought exciting updates for One Piece fans at this year’s One Piece Day in Tokyo, the annual celebration of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga. Alongside debuting the first sneak peek at season 2 of the live-action adaptation, the streamer also confirmed that a third season is already in the works.

Season 2 will introduce a wave of new faces, including major Marines, members of the criminal group Baroque Works, pirates, and characters from some of the series’ most memorable story arcs.

Callum Kerr will portray Smoker, with Matthew Leck playing his younger self. Julia Rehwald joins the cast as Tashigi, while James Hiroyuki Liao steps in as Ipponmatsu. Rigo Sanchez will appear as Dragon, and Clive Russell will take on the role of Crocus. Daniel Lasker plays Mr. 9, with Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday and Aroop Shergill portraying her younger version.

Baroque Works expands its ranks with Yonda Thomas as Igaram, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, and Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek. Brendan Murray and Werner Coetser will play the giant pirate captains Brogy and Dorry.

Drum Island will bring more colorful additions: Rob Colletti as Wapol, Mark Penwill as Chess, Anton David Jeftha as K.M., Ty Keogh as Dalton, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiruluk.

Earlier, Netflix shared a statement from Oda himself: “Yes, the live-action One Piece is currently in production, with filming well underway. The story will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island!”

It’s shaping up to be a packed season for the Straw Hat Pirates, with plenty of fan-favorite moments and new adventures set to make their way into the live-action world.

1. Loguetown

The Loguetown Arc is the last arc of the East Blue Saga in One Piece. The Straw Hat Pirates arrive at Loguetown, the birthplace and execution site of Gol D. Roger, to gather supplies before entering the Grand Line.

The story begins with the crew relaxing on the Going Merry when Nami spots a flyer showing Luffy’s new 30,000,000 beli bounty. Luffy is thrilled, though Nami warns it will bring trouble. They soon see Loguetown ahead and decide to stop there.

Meanwhile, news of Luffy’s bounty spreads to his hometown, where most villagers are proud of him, though Mayor Woop Slap sees it as fate rather than a dream. Elsewhere, Mihawk delivers the poster to Shanks, who celebrates Luffy’s success with a party.

2. Reverse Mountain

The Reverse Mountain Arc is the seventh arc and the start of the Alabasta Saga. The Straw Hat Pirates face the challenge of crossing Reverse Mountain’s dangerous rapids to enter the Grand Line.

After escaping Loguetown, the crew battles storms and nearly drifts into the Calm Belt but eventually reaches the mountain. While descending, they encounter a giant whale blocking their path.

The whale swallows their ship, the Going Merry, and the crew, except for Luffy, who escapes onto the whale’s back. Luffy then discovers a mysterious hatch on the whale before it dives underwater. This arc also hints at a future new crew member.

3. Whisky Peak

The Whiskey Peak Arc is the eighth story arc in One Piece and the second part of the Alabasta Saga. The Straw Hat Pirates arrive at Whiskey Peak, the first island they encounter in the Grand Line. The town seems to welcome pirates like heroes, which feels too good to be true.

As the crew sails through the unpredictable Grand Line weather, they reach Whiskey Peak and meet Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday, who mysteriously leave the ship. Since their Log Pose needs time to reset, the crew must stay on the island. The residents greet them warmly and throw a party, but the town soon reveals a darker secret.

4. Little Garden

Little Garden is the second island the Straw Hat Pirates visit in the Grand Line. Despite its name, it’s a huge, prehistoric island filled with dinosaurs and two giant warriors, Dorry and Brogy.

With Princess Vivi joining them, the crew explores the dangerous island. Luffy and Vivi go to explore while Nami and Usopp stay on the ship, feeling uneasy. They soon meet Dorry, who becomes their friend. Meanwhile, Sanji and Zoro start a contest to see who can catch the most meat. Later, Nami and Usopp are shocked when Brogy appears and captures some dinosaurs, making them fear for their safety.

5. Drum Island

The Drum Island Arc is the tenth story arc in One Piece and the fourth in the Alabasta Saga. The Straw Hat Pirates arrive at the snowy, year-round winter island of Drum after Nami falls seriously ill and needs medical help.

On their way, they fight off pirates led by Wapol, who has the power to eat and merge with anything. After defeating him, they reach Drum Island but are attacked by the island’s militia. Dalton, the former captain of the guard, stops the fight and takes them to Bighorn town, where he explains the island’s difficult situation. This arc introduces the crew’s new doctor, Tony Tony Chopper.
