A Beloved ‘Cheers’ Spinoff Keeps Refusing to Leave the Streaming Top 10
Some classic sitcom comfort watches never really go out of style, and this one has been proving it for years. The series ran for 11 seasons on NBC from 1993 to 2004 and won 37 Primetime Emmys. It centered on Kelsey Grammer as the pompous but lovable radio psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane.
Of course, the story did not stop there. ‘Frasier’ returned as a revival series on Paramount+ in October 2023, with Grammer back in the lead role. Despite a second season, the revival was canceled in early 2025, leaving fans with a bittersweet ending.
Yet the show keeps finding its way back into the spotlight. On the latest Top 10 TV shows chart, ‘Frasier’ sits at number ten, down one spot, with a total of 562 days spent on the list. That is an impressive run for a sitcom that wrapped its original run more than twenty years ago.
It is also not the first time viewers have pushed it up the rankings. Over the past year it has repeatedly popped back into the Paramount+ charts, including a number nine finish in October 2025 and a number ten spot a few months later. The sitcom has also been charting in countries like Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Part of the appeal is how easy it is to get into. Both the original series and the revival are available on Paramount+, so newcomers and longtime fans can binge the whole saga in one place. Reports on the revival’s cancellation also noted that CBS Studios planned to shop it elsewhere, but there were no takers.
That leaves the door open for a few what if scenarios. Grammer has reportedly shared ideas about what a continuation could look like and has even considered buying the rights from Paramount. With the original still proving its pull on the charts, a fresh chapter does not feel entirely out of reach.
For now, Dr. Crane and his fussy, witty world remain a reliable draw for anyone looking to unwind. After all this time on the charts, do you think the Crane brothers deserve one more proper reunion, or is the original series the only version worth revisiting?
