‘Agatha All Along’ To Be a Musical, Patti Lupone Confirms

Agatha debuted in the Disney+ series ‘WandaWision,’ as the nosy neighbour-turned-powerful witch who tried to steal Wanda’s powers. By the end of the show, Agatha is defeated and trapped in her noisy neighbor persona, left powerless, which will obviously translate to the first episode of the show. The two characters share a connection from the comics, with Agatha being one of the most powerful magic users in the Marvel Comics Universe.

Now following a series of revelations, we’ve gotten one more update. Although fans already suspected that the show will be a musical based on what we’ve seen (and speculated) so far, it’s finally been confirmed.

Speaking for Deadline, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone and Kathryn Hahn teased a hilarious show and prepared fans for what to expect:

Hahn: We can say that the coven is strong. We can say that it is hilarious and deep, and I was moved and honored to work with all these people every day, really it was a fortuitous dream that it happened to be this group to go through that together.

Patti LuPone: And it’s a musical!

‘Agatha’ is by no means the only superhero-influenced musical coming this year, as we can likewise look forward to ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ which revelation as a music-centered movie sparked intense fan backlash.

“Agatha All Along” is set to debut on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with its initial two episodes, followed by weekly releases of the remaining seven episodes until November 6. The series is positioned within Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
