All 7 Marvel Movies (& Shows) Featuring Spider-Woman in Order (Live-Action & Animated)

Spider-Woman is a character that came in many incarnations throughout comics, TV shows, and movies – especially since 2018 when ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ came out. From Gwen Stacy and Jessica Drew to Julia Carpenter, here’s the ultimate list of all seven movies and TV shows featuring any version of Spider-Woman in order.
Movies (& shows) featuring Spider-Woman in order by release date
Spider-Woman first appeared outside of Marvel comics in an animated show, ‘Spider-Woman,’ in 1979. Since then, various versions of the character have appeared in four additional shows and movies, with one more films underway, expected in 2026 (I guess?). If you want to dive right into the list, here’s every Spider-Woman appearance in movies and TV shows in order by release date:
- ‘Spider-Woman‘ (1979-1980)
- ‘Iron Man‘ (1994-1996)
- ‘Ultimate Spider-Man‘ (2012-2017)
- ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘ (2018)
- ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider‘ (2023)
- ‘Madame Web‘ (2024)
- ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse‘ (TBD)
The last film on the list – ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ – was supposed to come out in March 2024. However, due to the industry-wide strikes, the film was pushed and is currently removed from Sony’s release schedule.
Throughout the rest of the article, we’ll explain how these movies and shows are or aren’t connected to each other and what the best way to watch them is. Be careful, as there may be some minor spoilers from this point forward.
Are all movies and shows featuring Spider-Woman connected? What’s the best way to watch them?
Not all the shows and movies featuring Spider-Woman are connected to each other. In fact, most of them aren’t. The only three movies that are actually connected to each other plot-wise are the Spider-Verse trilogy. And even in those films, the third movie – ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ – hasn’t yet been released.
As for the rest of the entries on this list, each of them is essentially a separate project that features different versions of Spider-Woman.
For instance, Jan Van Ark voiced the Jessica Drew version of Spider-Woman in the ‘Spider-Woman’ series. The next time we saw Spider-Woman in the ‘Iron Man’ series, it was the Julia Carpenter incarnation, and she was voiced by Casey DeFranco in the first season and Jennifer Hale in the second, respectively.
In the ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ show, there are a few episodes in which the Mary Jane Watson version of Spider-Woman appears, also referred to as Spider-MJ. This version of the character was voiced by Tara Strong.
In ‘Madame Web,’ we got three different incarnations of Spider-Woman. Sydney Sweeney portrayed Julia Carpenter, Isabela Merced played Anya Corazon, and Celeste O’Connor took the role of Mattie Franklin, respectively.
Finally, in the Spider-Verse trilogy, we’ve already seen numerous Spider-Woman variants. Spider-Gwen, aka Gwen Stacy’s Spider-Woman, is the most prominent of all Spider-Women that appeared so far (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld). There was also Jess Drew (based on Jessica Drew from the comics), voiced by Issa Rae, etc.
What’s the best way to watch all movies & shows featuring Spider-Woman?
Seeing that most of these films and shows are separated from each other, the best way to watch all of them is by simply following their release order.
The stories aren’t connected to each other directly, so there’s really no point in trying to watch them in some chronological order. So if you watch them in release order, at least you’ll get to see how the character progressed over the years and compare different incarnations of Spider-Woman.
That being said, the Spider-Verse trilogy is connected, although the third movie hasn’t been released yet. Therefore, you can still watch this entire list in release order, but when ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ comes out, simply watch the trilogy separately from the other movies and shows on this list.
As for ‘Madame Web,’ it’s part of Sony’s SSU.
Movies (& shows) featuring Spider-Woman in chronological order
As you probably figured out by now, ordering all of these shows and movies chronologically doesn’t make that much sense, as they are all separated from each other as stand-alone projects – except for the Spider-Verse trilogy.
Therefore, I suggest you should watch all the shows and films in their release order, but watch the Spider-Verse trilogy separately, and chronologically. The two lists would look like this:
Spider-Verse trilogy:
- ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018)
- ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider’ (2023)
- ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ (TBD)
Other Spider-Woman movies and TV shows:
- ‘Spider-Woman’ (1979-1980)
- ‘Iron Man’ (1994-1996)
- ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ (2012-2017)
- ‘Madame Web’ (2024)
