The next, 31st installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is less than a month away. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is sure to be the most important Ant-Man movie to date. This film will kick off Phase 5 of the MCU, serve as the first step towards Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, introduce the next big villain Kang the Conqueror, and conclude the Ant-Man trilogy.

Since Paul Rudd debuted as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in his first solo film in 2015, Ant-Man has become one of the most vital members of the MCU roster, earning the right to start building the stage for the next big crossover event. Tickets are currently on sale, and while we wait for the movie to premiere in theaters, we’ll give you a list of all the locations where Quantumania was filmed.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania began shooting in the Republic of Türkiye’s historical region Cappadocia in February 2021. Since both Ant-Man movies took place in San Francisco, the exterior scenes and background plates for Quantumania were filmed at the San Francisco Police Department in North Beach, San Francisco. The principal photography began in July 2021 at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, South East England. The filming also took place in Atlanta, Georgia, and Los Angeles, California.

Filming locations (in-depth)

The Republic of Türkiye

The Republic of Türkiye’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy revealed in February 2021 that the shooting for Quantumania had begun. The filming took place in the historical region of Cappadocia, and some scenes were filmed in some other parts of the country, including Nevşehir.

Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, South East England

In May 2021, the movie’s director Peyton Reed announced on Twitter that production would take place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic provided the StageCraft virtual production technology, known as The Volume, which was first used during the production of The Mandalorian. Quantumania is the second MCU film, after Thor: Love and Thunder, to be shot using The Volume.

San Francisco, California

Both 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp took place in San Francisco, California, and therefore most of the exterior scenes in both films were filmed there. For Quantumania, filming took place at the San Francisco Police Department Central Station in North Beach, San Francisco on June 19 and June 20, 2021. Both the interior and exterior of the station were filmed, with additional scenes filmed in downtown San Francisco. The second official trailer for the film briefly featured a scene where Cassie, Scott’s daughter, is in jail, so it can be assumed that part of the film was shot there.

Los Angeles, California, and Atlanta, Georgia

Many Hollywood movies today may be shot all over the world, but there is always a portion of the production that takes place in the home of Hollywood, Los Angeles, and in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia. Since Marvel fans tend to stick around until after the credits (to watch the post-credit scene), you might sometimes notice the Made in Georgia logo at the end of the credits. This is due to the fact that many movie and TV projects bring their production to Atlanta due to Georgia’s production-friendly tax incentive program.
