‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Gets Official Release Date & When Exactly It Will Be Available Online
Marvel fans may finally know when they will get their first proper look at Avengers: Doomsday. While Disney has not officially revealed the trailer yet, a new report suggests the highly anticipated preview could arrive very soon as Marvel prepares for a major promotional push.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is expected to show the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday during its return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25. The event is expected to be one of Marvel Studios’ biggest presentations in years, and the trailer reveal could become one of the major highlights of the convention.
The report also suggests that the trailer will likely be released online shortly after its Comic-Con debut. Since Disney is already preparing to promote the film ahead of its December 18 theatrical release, a digital release would make sense and allow fans around the world to see the footage.
The timing of the trailer release is connected to Disney’s early ticket plans for the movie. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Disney will begin selling tickets for select premium-format screenings of Avengers: Doomsday on July 20, almost five months before the film arrives in theaters.
The early ticket sales are mainly for Infinity Vision theaters, a new large-format screen option created by Disney. The company introduced the format after Warner Bros. secured IMAX screens for Dune: Part Three around the same release period. Since tickets are going on sale so early, Disney is expected to begin a much bigger marketing campaign for Avengers: Doomsday.
The movie’s reported runtime was also revealed as part of the ticket information. The Hollywood Reporter says the film is expected to run for 165 minutes, which is two hours and 45 minutes. That would make it longer than Avengers: Infinity War, which lasted 149 minutes, but shorter than Avengers: Endgame, which had a runtime of 181 minutes.
The trailer will give fans their first real look at the massive crossover event and the return of several major Marvel characters. Avengers: Doomsday will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes together as they face Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
The film is expected to feature a huge lineup of characters from across the Marvel universe, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and several returning X-Men characters.
With so many heroes involved, the first trailer will likely focus on setting up the threat of Doctor Doom and teasing how these different teams will come together. Fans are especially curious to see how Marvel connects the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men storylines in one massive event.
Are you excited to see the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday?
Marvel has kept details about Avengers: Doomsday mostly hidden so far, with no official trailer released and only limited information shared about the plot. The upcoming Comic-Con presentation could finally change that and give audiences their first major preview of what may become one of the biggest MCU films ever.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18.
