The upcoming sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2 is already making headlines even before its release, mainly because of the long list of celebrity cameos spotted during filming in New York City.

According to on-set reports, eyewitness accounts, Page Six, and Entertainment Weekly, the film is bringing together a mix of models, actors, TV personalities, and public figures in small appearances that have fans talking.

The story of the sequel brings back Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, who is still running Runway magazine while dealing with its decline in the fashion world. Emily Blunt’s character has also moved up in her career and now works as an executive for a luxury company that advertises with the magazine. While the plot continues the world of fashion media, much of the attention has shifted to the surprising number of real-life celebrities appearing in the film.

Among the most talked-about names is Heidi Klum, who was seen filming in New York City during production. Former Bravo personality Paige DeSorbo was also spotted on set around the same time. Amelia Gray Hamlin, daughter of Lisa Rinna, was seen arriving for filming, though her role has not been confirmed.

Amelia Dimoldenberg, known for Chicken Shop Date, was also part of the shoot. Reports suggest she may be playing herself, though that has not been officially confirmed. Model and TikTok personality Calum Harper was also seen on location and is expected to appear in a fashion-related role. Model Anok Yai was also spotted during filming, adding to the strong presence of runway talent in the movie.

Several high-profile names were seen together during a scene described as having a Met Gala-style setting. Ashley Graham and Ciara were both present, and Karolina Kurkova was also seen in the same sequence. These appearances suggest the film will feature large fashion-event moments as part of its story world.

Other well-known figures are also reported to appear briefly in the movie. These include editor Tina Brown, media figure Kara Swisher, journalist Molly Jong-Fast, singer Jon Batiste, and designer Marc Jacobs. Their roles are expected to be short cameos, likely playing themselves or versions of themselves within the fashion industry setting.

However, not all planned appearances made it to the final cut. Sydney Sweeney was originally filmed for a cameo in the sequel but was later removed during editing. Her scene would have appeared early in the film and showed her being styled by Emily Blunt’s character. The decision to remove it was described as a creative choice due to pacing and structure. Sweeney had already filmed her part, but it was ultimately not included in the final version.

Reports also note that it is common for films with many cameos to adjust or remove appearances during editing, as seen in other recent productions.

Overall, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is shaping up to be packed with celebrity appearances alongside its main storyline. With filming still fresh in public memory and more details expected closer to release, interest around the film continues to grow, especially regarding who will actually make the final cut.

From what is being reported, the film is clearly aiming to bring a modern fashion-world energy by mixing fictional characters with real public figures. It could either feel exciting and fresh or a bit overcrowded depending on how these cameos are used in the final story. What do you think about so many celebrity appearances in one movie?
