‘Blue Beetle’ Rumors Suggest Early Screenings Are ‘Overwhelmingly Positive'

DC Extended Universe is looking for its end with the release of the ‘Blue Beetle’ and ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ with the former being released this month. Earlier this year, we saw the release of ‘The Flash’ movie, which had mixed reactions from critics and fans, and it didn’t help that the problems surrounding the star member of the cast “muddied” the enjoyment of some fans. Of course, the whole problem with CGI and some questionable story elements didn’t help the movie, but looking back to the pre-release of ‘The Flash’ movie, it had some positive reactions in early screenings, with DC working really hard to promote the movie.

‘Blue Beetle’ had a much harder development since it was initially supposed to be an HBO Max exclusive with ‘Batgirl’ movie; however, the cancellation of the latter steered the former to a cinematic release. It seems that DC and Warner Bros. aren’t counting on the massive box office success since the circumstances and the movie’s promotion are below par compared to ‘The Flash.’ However, the reports on social media suggest that early screenings for ‘Blue Beetle’ are overwhelmingly positive.

Early screenings of ‘Blue Beetle’ are supposedly successful

As we already mentioned, ‘Blue Beetle’ will be released on August 18th, and it’s already getting early screening reports. At least what the rumors on Twitter suggest.

Some of the journalists in the industry reported that critics and other people with access to early screenings hailed the movie and called their reactions as ‘overwhelmingly’ positive. Of course, these kinds of reports are familiar since ‘The Flash’ had similar positive reactions, everyone from Stephen King and Tom Cruise to more notable journalists in the entertainment industry.

However, what plummeted ‘The Flash’ rating was the public reception, which is currently sitting at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie was far from awful, but the early screenings didn’t necessarily mean that much in the grand scheme of things.

‘Blue Beetle’ reports will get more traction the closer we get to the release date, and we’ll actually see if the early screenings will confirm the “first positive” reactions.

There have been talks of ‘Blue Beetle’ being delayed by Warner Bros. due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, but the decisions have been scratched due to James Gunn’s efforts to “reboot” and create a new DC Universe that will become stronger than ever.

As we already mentioned, ‘Blue Beetle’ will be released in theaters worldwide on August 18th, and it will star Xolo Maridueña in the titular role of Jaime Reyes, with Adriana Barazza, Raoul Max Trujillo, George Lopez, and Adriana Barraza in supporting roles. The movie’s main villain, Victoria Kord, will be played by notable Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon.

The movie is directed by Angel Manuel Soto.
