Bruce Campbell, known for his roles in Evil Dead and Bubba Ho-Tep, is ready to join the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds crew, even if he didn’t exactly know what the show was at first.

At the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds panel during Emerald City Comic Con 2025, Strange New Worlds star Anson Mount (Captain Pike) said he’d do anything to get Bruce Campbell to guest star on the show. The news made it to Campbell, who was at the event for a Dead by Dawn panel with Evil Dead co-star Jane Levy.

When Campbell heard about Mount’s request, he didn’t quite know what Strange New Worlds was. “When you say Strange New Worlds,” he asked, “You’re referring to a show that exists? We would probably have to start by letting me know what the show is. What is the show?

After learning that Strange New Worlds is a prequel to the original Star Trek, Campbell got excited about the idea of joining the cast. “I’m so in,” he said, eager to make a guest appearance.

Campbell didn’t stop there. He also shared some advice for Trekkies in the crowd, especially when it comes to interacting with the legendary Star Trek actor William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk. “If you ever run into Shatner,” Campbell said, “And it’s possible, because he’s still ticking! Don’t go Star Trek. Don’t go there, you’ll get no reaction. You want a reaction from William Shatner? You talk about TJ Hooker.”

Looks like Campbell is ready for the Star Trek universe, even if he needs to catch up on some episodes first. Fans can stream Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+.
