Carmen Electra is opening the door to a possible return to both Baywatch and Playboy, while speaking to reporters at a recent event in Los Angeles.

Electra made the comments while leaving The Abbey’s 35th anniversary party. She appeared in a Playboy Bunny outfit at the event, which immediately caught attention from fans and media.

When asked about her future plans, she said she is ready to appear in Playboy again. The comment quickly sparked reactions online, since Electra was one of the magazine’s most recognizable stars in the past.

She also talked about Baywatch, the show that helped define her early career and made her a global name in the 1990s. Electra suggested she could be open to returning in some form if the upcoming reboot moves forward.

She said she is curious about how the new version will turn out and whether it can create a new generation of stars like the original series did. Her comments added more attention to the reboot, which has been in active development for several years.

The Baywatch reboot has gone through a long production process. According to industry updates reported by Deadline Hollywood and other entertainment outlets, the project was first being discussed in 2018, when FremantleMedia International started exploring the idea of bringing the show back.

By 2023, Fremantle had officially begun early development and started talks with broadcasters and streaming platforms. In 2024, Fox Entertainment joined the project, with writer and showrunner Lara Olsen attached to lead the series.

In 2025, Fox gave the reboot a 12-episode order, with plans for it to join the 2026–27 television season. The production also received support from California’s film and TV tax credit program, which helped secure financing for filming.

Casting updates have continued into 2026. Actor Stephen Amell was announced as an adult version of Hobie Buchannon, a character connected to the original series. Original cast member David Chokachi is also set to return as Cody Madison.

Other new cast members include Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Noah Beck, and Brooks Nader. Former cast member Erika Eleniak is also set to return as Shauni McClain.

The reboot is expected to bring a mix of old and new characters, aiming to reconnect with longtime fans while introducing the story to a younger audience.

Electra’s comments now add even more attention to the project, especially since she was one of the most popular stars of the original show. While she did not confirm anything officially, her teasing remarks have already sparked speculation about a possible cameo or return.

For now, neither Fox nor Fremantle has confirmed any involvement from Electra in the reboot.
