Catherine Zeta-Jones has spent the past few years reinventing her television presence, most notably charming audiences as Morticia Addams on Netflix’s ‘Wednesday.’ Now she’s preparing to trade in the Addams family’s gothic mansion for something considerably more explosive with her latest project.

That project has been quietly taking shape since it was first announced back in February 2025, when Zeta-Jones signed on to both star in and executive produce a revenge thriller unlike anything she’s tackled in recent memory. After wrapping production and unveiling a first-look image last fall, fans have spent months waiting to learn exactly when the series would finally arrive.

That wait is officially over. ‘Kill Jackie‘ has set its premiere date, with all eight episodes releasing October 2 on Prime Video across the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada, according to Variety.

The series will also launch the same day in the United States on AMC+, following AMC Global Media’s acquisition of the domestic rights earlier this summer. Based on Nick Harkaway’s acclaimed novel “The Price You Pay,” written under his pseudonym Aidan Truhen, the show casts Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler turned art dealer who has spent two decades building a quiet, luxurious life while staying carefully anonymous.

That carefully constructed anonymity comes crashing down when Jackie discovers that The Seven Demons, described as a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Convinced someone from her past is behind the contract, Jackie sets out on a dangerous mission to take the assassins down one by one before they can finish the job.

Along the way, the series promises to complicate that revenge plot with deeper personal stakes. According to the show’s official synopsis, Jackie eventually realizes her own buried secrets may prove far more dangerous than the killers actively hunting her, pulling the story closer to home with what’s teased as surprising consequences.

Zeta-Jones spoke about her excitement for the project when it was first announced, framing the role as an opportunity to dig into complex, female-driven storytelling. “I’m thrilled to be a part of Kill Jackie (w/t) both behind and in front of the camera. The opportunity to bring this multifaceted character to life, and explore a female driven plot that encompasses empowerment, identity and redemption is something I’m looking forward to,” Zeta-Jones said.

Joining Zeta-Jones is a deep supporting ensemble that includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Bill Paterson, Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and Jonathan Cake, among several others. The series is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, and co-created by “Gangs of London” writers Conor Keane and Tom Butterworth alongside Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas, the latter also known for his work on “Killing Eve.”

That creative pedigree lines up closely with the show’s genre ambitions, blending the stylish criminal underworld tone of “Gangs of London” with the sharp, character-driven tension “Killing Eve” became known for. Harkaway himself is serving as a consultant on the adaptation, giving the production a direct link back to the source material’s original voice.

With a firm release date now locked in and a supporting cast this stacked behind her, Zeta-Jones appears poised to deliver one of the more distinctive performances of her recent career. Given how sharply the premise leans into both action and personal reckoning, ‘Kill Jackie’ looks positioned to stand out in an increasingly crowded field of prestige revenge thrillers.
