Christopher Nolan’s take on Homer’s ancient epic has turned its rollout into a genuine global tour, with stops in New York, London, and now Paris in the span of a single week. Every stage of that campaign has come with its own wave of fashion moments, each one seemingly designed to outdo the last.

The ensemble cast has leaned into that energy at every turn, mixing mythological references into their wardrobe choices while still finding room for personal style. Few actors on this particular press circuit have managed that balance quite as effectively as Charlize Theron.

That balancing act was on full display when Theron arrived at the Paris leg of the promotional tour, held at Trocadero Square with the Eiffel Tower glowing behind her as the sun dipped toward the horizon. Rather than leaning into anything overtly Greek or goddess-inspired, Theron opted for a sharp black blazer paired with satin mini shorts from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann.

The choice offered an early preview of Ackermann’s Spring 2027 vision for the fashion house, and it played directly into Theron’s long-standing reputation for commanding tailoring. The satin shorts also gave the look a slightly playful edge, a contrast that made the outfit stand out among a sea of more traditionally formal photocall looks.

Theron plays Calypso in the film, the nymph who keeps Matt Damon’s Odysseus on her island for seven years during his long journey home. That casting itself came with a bit of last minute reshuffling, since earlier reporting had placed Theron in the role of Circe before Nolan’s team confirmed at CinemaCon that she would instead be playing Calypso.

Theron has spoken candidly about stepping into Nolan’s production well after filming was already underway. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter while promoting a separate project, she admitted she felt like the new kid on the block walking into a shoot that had already been running for months, even though her time on set would only last a couple of weeks.

That same conversation found Theron expressing total trust in Nolan’s process despite her limited window on the project, noting that he is the kind of filmmaker who already knows exactly what film he is making before anyone else steps foot on set. It is a level of confidence that seems to have paid off, based on how much attention her scenes have already generated ahead of release.

The Paris stop followed Theron’s turn at the film’s London premiere, where she appeared alongside fellow cast members Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o in another round of press coverage highlighting the trio’s fashion choices. Between the premiere and the photocall, Theron has quickly become one of the most talked about presences on this particular press tour.

With ‘The Odyssey‘ set to open in theaters on July 17, the Paris appearance marks one of the final major stops before the film reaches audiences. Between the star-studded cast, the mythological subject matter, and a press tour already generating this much buzz, expectations for the film’s box office run are only continuing to build.
