Fans of the ‘One Chicago’ franchise are getting a new reason to celebrate as one of its biggest shows is preparing to arrive on Netflix in several international markets. According to What’s on Netflix, ‘Chicago P.D.’ will begin streaming on Netflix in multiple regions starting August 1, 2026.

The move comes as Netflix continues to expand its library with popular licensed shows, especially long-running dramas that already have dedicated audiences. The streaming platform has recently focused more on bringing familiar television hits to viewers around the world, and NBCUniversal has become one of its major partners in that strategy.

‘Chicago P.D.’ will now join the growing list of NBCUniversal titles available on Netflix in different countries. While some viewers have already had access to other shows from the ‘One Chicago’ universe, this marks a major step for fans who have been waiting for the police drama to arrive on the platform.

The series first premiered in 2014 as a spin-off of ‘Chicago Fire’. It follows Sergeant Hank Voight, played by Jason Beghe, and the Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department as they investigate some of the city’s most serious crimes.

Known for its intense cases, emotional storylines, and action-heavy episodes, ‘Chicago P.D.’ has become one of NBC’s longest-running dramas. Its episode structure also makes it a strong fit for streaming, where viewers often enjoy watching multiple seasons of crime shows in a short amount of time.

What’s on Netflix reports that the upcoming release will cover a wide international rollout. Confirmed regions include the United Kingdom and France, along with several other European countries such as Spain and the Netherlands. The show is also expected to arrive in parts of Latin America, including Brazil, as well as selected markets in Asia and Australia.

However, Netflix has not yet confirmed exactly how many seasons will be available when the show launches. Since ‘Chicago P.D.’ has more than a decade of episodes, the platform may release only a portion of the series at first rather than making the entire collection available immediately.

Many major television shows that arrive on Netflix through licensing deals are released in smaller batches. Viewers could potentially see the first few seasons added initially, with more episodes arriving later depending on the agreement between Netflix and NBCUniversal.

The news is also important because the future availability of ‘Chicago P.D.’ differs depending on where fans live. Viewers in the United States should not expect the series to arrive on Netflix at this time.

Are you excited for ‘Chicago P.D.’ coming to Netflix?

In the US, the streaming rights for the ‘One Chicago’ shows remain with Peacock, NBCUniversal’s own streaming service. While licensing deals can change in the future, there are currently no plans for ‘Chicago P.D.’ to leave Peacock for Netflix in the American market.

The arrival of ‘Chicago P.D.’ on Netflix gives international viewers another way to experience one of television’s most popular police dramas. With crime shows continuing to perform strongly on streaming platforms, the move could introduce the Intelligence Unit to an even larger global audience.
