Chris Pratt Says Star-Lord Will Return, But Isn’t Sure About ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Chris Pratt recently spoke about the future of his Marvel character, Star-Lord. While promoting his new movie Mercy, Pratt took some time to talk about the MCU. He confirmed that Star-Lord will return, even though he wasn’t part of the big Avengers: Doomsday casting reveal.
In an interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Pratt said that fans can still expect to see more of Star-Lord. He explained, “I can’t say, for fans of mine, where they’ll see Star-Lord again, but I can tell them we made a promise at the end of [Guardians of the Galaxy] Vol. 3 that the legendary Star-Lord will return, and he will return.“
This message should give fans hope. At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a title card appeared that said, “The Legendary Star-Lord will return.” That was Marvel’s way of saying his story isn’t over yet.
Marvel held a huge casting event for Avengers: Doomsday. The livestream went on for five hours and revealed many exciting cast members.
One of the biggest surprises was seeing chairs labeled for characters from the X-Men movies made by Fox. These included big names like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden — hinting that they might return to the MCU as well.
But one thing was missing: Chris Pratt’s chair.
When asked about the missing chair, Pratt laughed it off. “I don’t know! I think it was, like, far off… They must have cut away from it. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know. It was there. I’m sure it was there.” he joked.
Even though he wasn’t officially part of the event, Pratt’s comments made it clear that he’s still connected to Marvel and that fans haven’t seen the last of Star-Lord.
Right now, we don’t know exactly when or where Star-Lord will show up again. But Chris Pratt sounds confident that Marvel will keep its promise. Whether it’s in another Guardians project, a new solo adventure, or a future Avengers film, it seems like the galaxy hasn’t seen the last of Star-Lord just yet.
