David Harbour Says He’s Seen “About 6 Minutes” of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ – Here’s What He Thinks
David Harbour has shared an early and very brief reaction to Avengers: Doomsday after seeing a small portion of the film.
Speaking during the interview, he explained that his involvement in the movie is still ongoing and that he has been actively working on set in London at Pinewood Studios. He said he was even called back to travel for filming shortly after a late-night shoot, showing how busy production has become.
While talking about the scale of the project, Harbour described it as one of the largest productions he has ever been part of. He mentioned that there are many moving parts and a very large cast involved. According to him, the size of the film alone makes it hard to fully understand how everything is being managed during production.
Harbour also revealed that he recently saw a few minutes of the movie during an ADR session, which is when actors record additional dialogue in post-production. His reaction was strongly positive. He said the footage left a big impression on him and gave him confidence in what the directors are building.
He explained, “I watched just several scenes in ADR, and I was silenced in any of my critique by going, ‘Wow, these Russo brothers really understand the secret sauce of these films [and] what they do.’” He added that the story feels like a large myth being built across many characters and emotional arcs.
He continued by describing the scale of the film’s story, saying, “It’s a mythology. It’s a broad emotional mythology that is just vivid and vast in a way.”
Harbour also shared how little he has actually seen so far, but still gave a strong early reaction. He said, “I’ve seen like maybe six minutes of it, and it is as good as anything I’ve seen, so I’m very impressed with it.” His comments suggest that even small glimpses of the film already look very polished and impactful.
The film is being directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who previously worked on some of the biggest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Their return has been seen as a major moment for the franchise, especially as Marvel prepares for a new direction with this project.
Avengers: Doomsday is expected to bring together a large number of returning and new characters from across the Marvel universe. While full plot details are still being kept secret, the cast includes major names from earlier Marvel films and other superhero franchises, making it one of the most ambitious crossover projects in the series.
Harbour’s reaction adds to growing anticipation around the film. Other cast members have also hinted that the scale of production is unusually large, with many describing it as one of the most complex Marvel films yet.
At this stage, most details about the story are still unknown, and Marvel Studios is keeping information tightly controlled. However, small comments like Harbour’s continue to build interest and speculation among fans.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18.
