Deadpool 3 is one of the most-anticipated Marvel projects, and there are several reasons for that. The main reason is that Ryan Reynolds is finally returning to the role he was born to play, and this time he even managed to convince Hugh Jackman to come out of his superhero retirement and return as Wolverine.

Deadpool 3 is also the first MCU project which will be rated R, and apart from main stars Reynolds and Jackman, the movie will also feature many returning supporting stars. Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapičić have already been confirmed to return as Vanessa and Colossus, respectively, in the upcoming threequel, along with Karan Soni as Dopinder, Rob Delaney as Peter, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. Today, we got confirmation about two more returning stars.

The power couple Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio will return!

According to Deadline, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna have both closed their deals with Marvel Studios for the upcoming Deadpool threequel. Hildebrand debuted as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in 2016’s Deadpool, and she reprised the role in 2018’s Deadpool 2, in which Kutsuna was introduced as Yukio, a girlfriend to Hildebrand’s character.

Since her latest appearance as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in 2018, Hildebrand became one of those actors who worked on both Marvel and DC projects, as she starred as Aurora “Rory” Decker-Morningstar in the sixth and final season of Lucifer in 2021.

In the X-Men movie franchise, the character of Yukio was first played by Rila Fukushima in 2013’s The Wolverine, and Kutsuna debuted in Deadpool 2 as Yukio in the revised timeline. Considering that Hugh Jackman is returning as the Wolverine in Deadpool 3, and he remembers both timelines following the events of X-Man: Days of the Future Past, we’d like to see if there will be some references to Yukio he met in the original timeline.

Deadpool 3 was announced to be in development after Deadpool 2 was released, but Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019 delayed the project. Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Ryan Reynolds would keep the title role and that Merc with a Mouth would be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his third standalone movie. Reynolds officially announced the movie last year, alongside Hugh Jackman, who confirmed his big return as Logan, aka the Wolverine.

Shawn Levy, who previously worked with Reynolds on Free Guy and the Adam Project, is set to direct Deadpool 3. Deadpool 3 is set to be released on November 8, 2024.
