Sean “Diddy” Combs is settling into life at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey, and new photos show him socializing with fellow inmates in the prison yard.

In the images obtained on Saturday, Diddy can be seen laughing and chatting with a small group of prisoners, clearly in high spirits.

The rapper wore a dark blue coat, gray pants, and a gray beanie, and at one point he appeared to be shaking hands, possibly making a new friend. There was no sign of tension in the yard, and everyone seemed engaged in friendly conversation.

This is the second set of photos showing Diddy in prison after he was previously pictured looking more solemn in a bright orange beanie.

The move to Fort Dix came earlier this week, fulfilling the mogul’s request. Fort Dix is a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, where Diddy is serving the remainder of his four-year sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act.

According to his lawyer, Mark Geragos, there were concerns about how he would adjust, but so far, Diddy seems to be doing well. “It looks like he’s doing alright so far,” Geragos said during the “2 Angry Men” podcast.

Combs, 55, is listed in the federal Bureau of Prisons database as being incarcerated at Fort Dix, which is located on the grounds of the McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst military base about 34 miles east of Philadelphia.

He had previously been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest last September. Lawyers had asked a judge to “strongly recommend” that he be transferred to Fort Dix so he could participate in the prison’s residential drug treatment program. In a letter, Geragos wrote that the transfer would help Combs “address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

Diddy has already served roughly 14 months of his 50-month sentence. He is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028, though participation in programs like substance abuse treatment could reduce his time behind bars. His legal team recently asked a federal appeals court to quickly review the legality of his conviction, hoping for a potential reduction if the court overturns the sentence.

The Bad Boy Records founder was convicted in July for flying his girlfriends and male s** workers across the country for drug-fueled sexual encounters over several years. He was acquitted of s** trafficking and racketeering charges, which could have carried life sentences. Before his sentencing, Combs wrote a letter to the judge explaining that he had undergone a “spiritual reset” in jail and was committed to staying drug-free, peaceful, and non-violent.

It’s clear from the latest photos that Diddy is trying to adjust and maintain a positive attitude while serving his time. It will be interesting to see how he continues to navigate prison life.
