Despite being a French, Japanese, and Brazilian co-production, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir has become a global phenomenon and is one of the most popular children’s programmes around the world.

As you know, the original series has since become a franchise, and we have news about an important anime-inspired spin-off which is going to premiere quite soon.

Namely, we have information that the Miraculous Stellar Force has been acquired by Disney Branded Television, and that the first part of the new series will premiere later this year. But, there’s more!

The new series will remain true to the spirit of the original, but it will bring a new style, a different setting, and a lot of great new characters to the slate. Created by Thomas Astruc, the series’ original creator, the new series will be set in Tokyo, rather than Paris.

As per the synopsis we have, the series will follow “12 students who discover they are guardians of the Stellar Matrix, a fractured ancient cosmic weapon. Under the leadership of Miki, Mayotte and Yu Lu, these heroes must overcome personal differences and chaotic friendships to face formidable galactic villains such as the revenge-driven Modeler and the ominous force known as The Supreme.”

The series will debut later this year with the one-hour special titled “Miraculous World: Tokyo Stellar Force,” which will connect the main Paris-based story with the one set in Tokyo. Of course, this is not all, as a full series is expected to premiere in 2027.

We still don’t know on which of Disney’s channels the series is going to air, but you can expect more updates soon.
