Disney Unintentionally Spoils ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Major Villain Twist in New Trailer

Disneys Star Wars The Acolyte Already Broke One Significant Record in the First 24 Hours

Recently, the trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ was released, and it promised a lot of action, something that the creator herself, Leslye Headland promised in her many appearances across the media.

But the trailer also revealed something far more shocking, in the form of a accidentally included subtitle.

At the 0:20 mark, Amandla Stenberg, confirmed to portray Mae, the former padawan of Lee Jung-jae’s Master Sol, is heard saying, “I didn’t do it.” However, the subtitle mistakenly credited the character speaking as “Osha,” not Mae.

So, what’s the big deal with this subtitle? If you’ve been following ‘Acolyte’ so far you will know that one of the biggest mysteries in the show will actually revolve around the fact that somebody is killing Jedi, hunting them down, and eliminating them.

The presence of ‘The Acolyte’ was also teased in the trailers, a dark force user who will presumably be responsible for it. The fans were long speculating that Mae, a character that was teased to be that “dark force user” actually has a twin sister, Osha who will presumably still be training under the tutelage of Jedi Master Sol.

Osha will actually be the twin behind the murders while she will try to frame her twin sister Mae for the murders, as is the Sith way. Mae will be an easy target for this since she left the Jedi order due to the reasons we are yet to find out.

This fits perfectly with what Leslye Headland was talking about, how we will be urged to side with the underdog, and it’s clear that Mae will be that underdog, while she doesn’t exactly agree with the Jedi order clearly, that doesn’t mean that she is Sith.

The existence of twin sister was teased in the posters as well. You can clearly see that the Sith acolyte in the image has the same hairstyle as Mae.
