EA’s Iron Man Game Reportedly to Feature Major Singleplayer Levels
A recent job listing has sparked excitement among fans of the upcoming Iron Man game from EA. According to the listing, the game will feature “major singleplayer levels,” giving players plenty to explore as they take on the role of Tony Stark.
The job listing appeared on the official EA website and was spotted by users on the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. EA and Motive, the developers behind the game, are looking for a Level Designer. The job description mentions that the designer will need to “create extremely fun, satisfying game levels that align with our creative vision.”
Interestingly, the listing’s “Responsibilities” section also states that the designer will be tasked with building “major singleplayer levels” within the game’s creative boundaries. This suggests that the game might not just be a straightforward action title but could include large, detailed areas for players to explore.
There’s some speculation about what “major singleplayer levels” could mean. Some fans think the game might follow an open-world format, similar to Marvel’s Spider-Man series, with expansive maps to fly around as Iron Man. Others believe it might be more of a semi-open world like the Star Wars: Jedi series, where players move through large, interconnected areas.
Another hint from the listing suggests that the game could include RPG elements. One of the qualifications for the position mentions experience with singleplayer action RPGs, either as a designer or as a dedicated player. This might mean that the game will have some role-playing aspects, like upgrading abilities or gear.
Back in 2022, EA and Marvel Studios announced an Iron Man game that was at the time in the pre-production phase.
We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters. heir experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay — combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon — will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.Source: EA
Needless to say, the game didn’t get any updates since then. We know it is being developed as a single-player, third-person action-adventure game, built using Unreal Engine 5. There was some buzz about the game being showcased at GDC 2025, but references to it were removed before the event.
