Elektra’s New ‘Daredevil, Born Again’ Costume Is Getting Even Clearer, and Fans Think It’s Hinting at Something Bigger

Marvel’s Netflix reunion inside ‘Daredevil, Born Again’ keeps deepening with every new set video that surfaces out of New York City. What began as scattered rumors about familiar faces returning to Hell’s Kitchen has turned into one of the most closely tracked productions of the year, with fans dissecting every grainy clip for clues about where Season 3 is headed.

Production has been underway for months in locations across the city, including a recent stretch of filming in Dumbo, Brooklyn, where Elodie Yung was first spotted back in costume as Elektra Natchios. That initial sighting confirmed months of speculation sparked partly by cryptic workout videos Yung had posted earlier in the year, hinting she was preparing for something physical.

A newly surfaced video has now given fans their clearest look yet at both Elektra and her redesigned costume, showing her alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil on set together for the first time. The footage offers a far sharper view of the suit’s details than earlier clips, which had mostly caught Yung obscured beneath a hooded jacket between takes.

That costume has become the centerpiece of nearly every fan discussion since it first leaked. The full look pairs a sleeveless leather style vest with red accents, black leather pants, combat boots, and red forearm wraps with fingerless gloves, finished off with the character’s signature red headband worn openly around her head rather than covering her face the way it did in her Netflix appearances.

The redesign leans noticeably more comic accurate than anything Yung wore during her original run on the character, and several fans have pointed out how closely it resembles outfits Elektra has worn in specific comic storylines where she actually took up the Daredevil mantle herself. That detail has fueled a growing theory that Elektra could step into Matt’s role while he remains behind bars following his Season 2 arrest.

Matt Murdock’s own costume has undergone a parallel transformation this season, trading the jet black suit with red accents he wore in Season 2 for a new design featuring predominantly red sleeves, red underpiping, and a bright red Daredevil symbol across the chest. Each season has given Matt a visually distinct suit tracking his emotional journey, and this latest shift appears to signal him moving even closer to fully embracing the mantle in a more classic form.

Adding another wrinkle to the mystery, insider reports suggest Season 3 will feature a direct confrontation between Elektra and Bullseye, with a stunt performer associated with Wilson Bethel’s character already spotted near Yung during filming. If accurate, that would mark the first time the two characters have shared a scene together anywhere in the MCU.

Elektra’s return continues a pattern that has defined this season’s marketing, with Marvel folding nearly the entire Defenders roster back into the fold. Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’ Danny Rand have all been confirmed returning, giving Season 3 what looks like the most complete gathering of Netflix era heroes the franchise has assembled since the original crossover series ended.

That buildup carries real narrative weight given where the story left off. Matt spent much of Season 2 fighting to bring down Wilson Fisk’s corrupt hold on the city, only to end the season disbarred and imprisoned after publicly revealing his secret identity to save those closest to him, leaving Hell’s Kitchen without its protector heading into whatever comes next.

With Season 3 currently targeting a 2027 premiere and filming expected to wrap sometime later this summer, fans still have a long wait ahead before any of these theories get confirmed. For now, every new set video only seems to raise the stakes further on just how large this reunion is shaping up to be.
