Elizabeth Olsen Pitched “White-Haired” and “Wrinkled” Return of Scarlet Witch to Marvel Execs

For fans of the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen is best known for portraying Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. She first appeared as the character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier back in 2014, meaning she has been playing the role for over a decade. Her most recent appearance was a voice role in What If…? The Avengers Assembled in 1602.

Although Scarlet Witch’s fate in the MCU remains uncertain—she is presumed dead at the moment. The rumors are loud that she will be back in one way or another, but at this point, nothing has been confirmed.

Now Olsen, in her recent interview, shared something really interesting with the fans. Olsen shared her thoughts on her character’s future and how she would like to see Wanda return.

When asked about Wanda’s villain turn, Olsen explained that it was part of the plan from the start. “I actually wasn’t a part of the reshoots… what I did is what stayed,” she said. This confirmed that Wanda’s darker side was planned all along.

Olsen said she loved exploring this new, villainous side of Wanda. “It was an interesting turn, but one that I was excited to take… I thought it was kind of something delicious. I thought it was a fun opportunity.”

As for Wanda’s future, the actress shared an idea she pitched to Marvel. She imagines Wanda returning after 50 years with white hair and a wrinkled face. “I have white hair—such a big, massive white wig—and gnarly face of wrinkles doing like a Tracy Ullman thing,” she said. “I am just like a creature that they find. And that’s how I imagine Wanda’s next journey.”

She even said that she had pitched this idea to Marvel. “It’s something I have quite literally pitched. I mean, I guess in one of the comics, she ages quite quickly, and I think those are the images that are implanted in my brain.”

So, could we see a 50-year-old, wrinkled Wanda on screen soon? Olsen didn’t say much, but she hinted that maybe it’s time to talk to the Russo Brothers about it. The actress certainly said in the past that she would love to reprise her role and fans would certainly love to watch her again!
