HBO is celebrating a huge win after the return of Euphoria. According to the network, the season three premiere brought in 8.5 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max during its first three days. That number shows just how much interest still surrounds the series after years away.

The new total is also a big jump from season two. Reports say the latest premiere was up 44 percent compared with the season two debut back in 2022. After a long four-year wait, fans clearly came back in a major way.

Many viewers were excited to see the main cast together again. Zendaya returned as Rue, with Sydney Sweeney back as Cassie and Jacob Elordi returning as Nate. The new season picks up years later, with the story moving five years into the future.

That time jump changes everything for the characters. Rue is no longer dealing only with teenage problems. She is now involved in a much darker and more dangerous world. Reports say her story now places her working for a drug cartel in Mexico.

Nate has also moved into a new chapter of life. He is now running the family construction business. Cassie’s story has changed, too, as she has entered the world of OnlyFans. The older setting gives the show a different tone as the characters face adult choices and bigger consequences.

The premiere was not only about new drama. It also took time to honor people connected to the show who have passed away. Viewers saw a tribute to Angus Cloud, who played Fezco. Cloud died in 2023 and was one of the most loved actors in the series. In the current storyline, Fezco is said to be in prison.

The episode also paid tribute to Eric Dane, who played Cal Jacobs. Dane passed away earlier this year after battling ALS. Executive producer Kevin Turen was also remembered during the memorial message.

Fans online shared emotional reactions to the tribute moments, with many saying it added real weight to the premiere. While Euphoria grabbed most of the attention, HBO is also having success with other projects. According to reports, the limited series DTF St. Louis recently ended a strong run.

That show averaged 6.5 million viewers per episode, with its finale bringing in 3.5 million viewers during the first few days after release. Reports say that there was a 40 percent increase from the show’s debut. For HBO, it shows that both returning hits and newer series are finding audiences.

The cast of Euphoria has also become even bigger stars during the break between seasons. Zendaya has remained one of the biggest names in Hollywood. She is preparing for Dune Part Three and recently worked on the film The Drama. Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi have also built strong movie careers while the show was away.

Now that season three is finally here, Euphoria looks ready to dominate pop culture again. Strong ratings, major cast returns, emotional tributes, and a bold new storyline have helped the series come back in a very big way.
