‘Fast & Furious 11’ Begins Filming – Vin Diesel Teases “Amazing Finale” in New Set Video
According to updates shared by Vin Diesel on Instagram, filming has officially started on the next and final main entry in the Fast & Furious franchise, often referred to as Fast & Furious 11 or Fast Forever. The update comes after a long gap following the release of Fast X in 2023.
The franchise began in 2001 and has since grown into one of the biggest global action series in film history. It now includes ten main movies along with several spin-offs. Vin Diesel has played Dominic Toretto across the entire series, becoming the central figure of the story.
In his recent set video, Diesel confirmed that production is now underway. The video shows him on a film set in what appears to be a garage environment. A black muscle car is visible behind him, which many fans believe could be Dom’s classic 1970 Dodge Charger, a vehicle closely linked to the character throughout the series.
In the video, Diesel speaks directly to fans in a calm and serious tone. He thanks them for waiting through the long development process and hints that the movie will serve as a final chapter for the main storyline. He said, “amazing finale” while referring to what audiences can expect from the film. He also expressed appreciation for the audience support over the years.
The filming update confirms that the project is moving forward after multiple delays. Since Fast X, the future of the franchise has been unclear at times, with scheduling issues and industry delays slowing down production. Now, with cameras rolling, the film is back on track.
The upcoming movie, currently scheduled for a 2028 release, is expected to continue the story left open in Fast X. That film ended with Jason Momoa’s character Dante still alive and positioned as a major threat. It also included surprise returns from characters like Hobbs and Gisele, which opened the door for more returning cast members in the final installment.

While no full plot details have been confirmed, it is expected that long-time cast members such as Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Sung Kang may return. Other actors from recent films could also appear, depending on how the story is structured.
The director for the final film is Louis Leterrier, who also worked on Fast X. Vin Diesel has also suggested that the movie will return to its roots. This includes a stronger focus on street racing and more practical car stunts, similar to the early films in the series. There are also plans to bring the story back to Los Angeles, where the original movie took place.
Diesel’s video did not reveal any major plot spoilers, but it did confirm the emotional tone of the project. He framed it as a closing chapter for the franchise, which has been running for more than two decades.
With filming now officially underway, more updates are expected in the coming months as production continues. The combination of returning characters, a final storyline, and a long production gap has made this one of the most anticipated upcoming films in the action genre.
