The series follows Weak, a washed-up cyberpunk legend now forced to live without chrome as he searches for purpose in a world that’s moved on without him, alongside a deadly nomad named D, who sets out on a path of revenge that pulls him into dangerous corporate secrets. That shift away from David and Lucy, the central characters from the original season, marks a deliberate creative choice to explore new corners of the Cyberpunk universe.
The series comes once again from Japanese animation studio Trigger, working alongside CD Projekt Red, with Kai Ikarashi directing this new installment. Bartosz Sztybor returns as writer and showrunner, having previously described his vision for the sequel as drawing inspiration from 90s crime films in the vein of ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Léon: The Professional.’
The English dub features Clancy Brown voicing veteran edgerunner Weak Kingsley, joined by Valeria Rodriguez, Kimoy Lee, and Nazeeh Tarsha rounding out the cast. In the original Japanese version, Momoka Terasawa and Akari Kitō lead the voice ensemble, bringing this new chapter of Night City to life across both language releases.
