First Teaser Drops for Alan Ritchson’s ‘Runner,’ Release Date Announced
A new teaser for Runner has been shown for the first time, giving a preview of Alan Ritchson in his next action role. The footage was presented at CinemaCon 2026, where the film’s release date was also confirmed.
The movie centers on a former soldier named Hank Malone, played by Ritchson. He is given an urgent job involving a medical delivery that must reach a young patient. Owen Wilson plays Ben, the man who hands over the package and explains the situation. “There’s a little girl that’s very sick, and you’re delivering her new liver,” he says, making it clear that the mission is a matter of life and death.
According to the teaser and its official description, the task quickly becomes dangerous. Criminals target the delivery, turning a simple job into a race against time. The story follows Hank as he tries to stay alive while making sure the organ reaches the hospital before it is too late. The teaser shows fast action, including fights, car chases, and explosions, as he pushes forward despite the risks.

At the end of the footage, Hank is seen still holding the case and refusing to give up. He says, “There’s nothing in the world that’s going to keep us from getting to you.” The official summary describes the film as a story about survival, pressure, and a desperate attempt to save a life while being hunted.
The film is directed by Scott Waugh, known for Expend4bles, and it will be released by Angel Studios. The script was written by Miles Hubley and Tommy White, and it had earlier gained attention after appearing on the Black List of popular unproduced scripts.
The cast includes several well-known names alongside Ritchson and Wilson, such as Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, Sullivan Stapleton, Peta Sergeant, and Geraldine Hakewill. Filming took place in Australia during 2025 and wrapped later that same year.
Runner is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 11.
The film looks like a strong mix of action and simple storytelling. The main idea is clear, and the time pressure makes it easy to stay interested. It feels like a classic action setup that can work well if done right. What do you think about this kind of story? Are you excited to see it? Share your thoughts in the comments.
