First Trailer Drops for ‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’: War Begins Again

The first trailer for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is finally here, and it brings back some familiar faces while diving into a brand-new story.
The action-packed prequel series will premiere on Prime Video on August 27, starting with the first three episodes. The trailer was released by Amazon and gives fans a first look at the intense origin story of Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch.
In the trailer, a voice says, “When we step on that battlefield, we fight for each other.” That line sets the tone for what looks like a gritty, emotional ride. Viewers also hear another voice saying, “I need two shooters for a time sensitive op. I’m offering you a chance to finish what you started, and to keep your brothers from danger.”
The trailer closes with the chilling words, “The only way out is right through it.”
The show is a prequel to The Terminal List, which starred Chris Pratt as James Reece. In Dark Wolf, Pratt returns to that role, but this time the spotlight is on Edwards. The story follows his path from the Navy SEALs into the world of secret CIA missions. The series will focus on the cost of war, both personal and emotional, and how far someone will go to protect their team.
Taylor Kitsch leads the series as Ben Edwards. Chris Pratt is back as James Reece, and Tom Hopper plays Raife Hastings. The cast also includes Robert Wisdom as Jed Haverford, Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, Rona-Lee Shimon as Eliza Perash, Shiraz Tzarfati as Tal Varon, and Jared Shaw as Boozer Vickers.
The series comes from co-creators Jack Carr, who wrote the original Terminal List novel, and David DiGilio, who also served as the showrunner and lead writer for the first season. Kitsch and Pratt are both executive producers, along with Carr, DiGilio, Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick, Max Adams, and Jared Shaw. Shaw, a former Navy SEAL, also worked as a technical advisor.
Frederick E.O. Toye, who recently won an Emmy for Shōgun, directed the pilot episode. The show is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, along with MRC and Civic Center Media.
Amazon confirmed that The Terminal List: Dark Wolf will premiere August 27, 2025, on Prime Video. The story is expected to explore the darker side of military operations and the emotional price paid by those involved, all while delivering the same kind of intense action fans loved in the original.
