Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for Lazarus, a new horror-thriller miniseries created by Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst. The series stars Bill Nighy, Alexandra Roach, and Sam Claflin and is set to premiere on October 22.

Lazarus follows a forensic psychologist, played by Claflin, who returns to his family home after his father’s death. While there, he begins investigating cold case murders, uncovering dark secrets along the way.

Bill Nighy plays the titular Doctor Lazarus, while Alexandra Roach takes on the role of Jenna Lazarus. Other cast members include David Fynn, Karla Crome, Kate Ashfield, Curtis Tennant, and Lloyd Lai, with Roisin Gallagher appearing in a recurring role.

The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios in partnership with Harlan Coben’s Final Twist Productions. Coben and Brocklehurst serve as writers and executive producers, while Sam Claflin, Nicola Shindler, and Richard Fee also executive produce through Quay Street Productions. Wayne Che Yip directed the first two episodes and served as executive producer, with Matt Strevens handling series production.

Filming took place in Manchester and Morecambe, starting in February 2024 and wrapping later that year.

The newly released trailer gives fans a first look at the series’ dark, suspenseful tone and hints at the intense mystery Claflin’s character will face.

With a strong cast and a gripping premise, Lazarus promises to be a chilling addition to Amazon Prime’s lineup of original series. It will consist of six episodes and is expected to attract fans of horror, thrillers, and mystery dramas alike.

The trailer makes Lazarus look incredibly promising. The combination of Harlan Coben’s storytelling with Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin in lead roles could make this series a must-watch this fall. What do you think about the new trailer? Share your thoughts in the comments.
