‘Harley Quinn’: The Fifth Season of the Animated Series Has Been Registered on EIDR
DC delivered a lot of live-action and animated content in the last few years. Although the studio has been struggling with the live-action content amid the imminent end of DC Extended Universe, DC never fails to deliver us some animation every year. Apart from the animated movies such as ‘Legion of Super-Heroes,’ ‘Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham,’ and ‘Justice League: Warworld,’ we also watched the ‘Harley Quinn,’ series, which spawned the ‘Valentine’s Day Special’ and its fourth season this year.
Harley Quinn animated series premiered in November 2019 on the former DC Universe streaming service, followed by the second season only two months after the first one ended. After the DC Universe was shut down as a streaming service, the series was moved to HBOMax, which was rebranded to simply Max in May this year. Despite all these changes between the streaming services, the ‘Harley Quinn’ animated series survived all those changes, and it looks like we just got the first sign that the fifth season will also happen.
It looks like the ‘Harley Quinn’ animated series will return for Season 5!
While DC and Max still haven’t officially announced that ‘Harley Quinn’ will return for the fifth season, it appears that the upcoming season was already registered at EIDR (Entertainment Identifier Registry). For those who don’t know, every piece of content, including motion pictures, radio, and television programs, that’s about to go into development needs to be uniquely registered, and thanks to those databases, we found out about some upcoming projects even before they were officially announced.
According to the register entry, the fifth season of Harley Quinn is expected to premiere in 2024. Judging by the release window of the previous two seasons, we expect to see it in July. However, it’s unknown if the ongoing strikes have affected the development and production of the season.
‘Harley Quinn’ stars ‘Big Bang Theory’ and ‘The Flight Attendant’ star Kaley Cuoco in the titular voice role, while Lake Bell plays Poison Ivy. The voice-acting veteran Alan Tudyk provides voice for multiple characters, including the Joker, Clayface, Calendar Man, Doctor Trap, Condiment King, Firefly, and Ocean Master.
Although it’s animated, ‘Harley Quinn’ is an adult series as it gets, which earned it praise for its black comedy, adult humor, dark tone, and unserious parody style. The series also features many known DC characters, but the key to enjoying this series is that absolutely nothing here must be taken seriously.
There’s only one episode left before ‘Harley Quinn’ concludes its fourth season. Everything that was released so far is available on Max.
How do you like the ‘Harley Quinn’ animated series? Would you like for Season 5 to happen? Let us know in the comments.
