Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. Fantastic Four Showdown Is the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Collectible Marvel Fans Wanted
Few rivalries in Marvel Comics run as deep as the one between Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four. Doom first appeared in ‘Fantastic Four’ #5 back in 1962 and has long been considered the team’s archenemy. Now the MCU is finally bringing that feud to the big screen, and collectors are getting an early taste of it.
The seeds were planted before ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ was even announced. Robert Downey Jr. made a cameo as Doom in the mid-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,‘ and the cast of the Fantastic Four was confirmed for ‘Doomsday’ during Marvel’s March 2025 livestream. Downey is set to play Doom in both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ with Marvel’s First Family expected to play a major role in the conflict.
On Oct. 2, MCU Film News shared what it called the first look at Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. The Fantastic Four figures for ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ The image shows Doom looming overhead in a dark green hood and billowing cloak, unleashing swirling green magic as the heroes fight back from below. Mister Fantastic stretches an arm upward toward the villain, The Thing’s rocky orange head sits near the center, and Invisible Woman raises her hands, all on a base of debris and smoke.
The display uses 1/6-scale figures of Downey’s Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm. Hot Toys’ wider ‘Doomsday’ collection now also includes Thor, Professor X, Cyclops, Gambit, Magneto and a Steve Rogers figure with a cracked Mjolnir. Pricing and release details for the showdown set haven’t been confirmed, but the image alone has collectors buzzing.

The Doom figure itself stands about 31 centimeters tall with 30 points of articulation, and it features a newly crafted masked head with separate rolling eyeballs. Hot Toys also includes 8 interchangeable hands, among them a pair for casting mystic power. The Special Edition adds a commemorative life-size metal ring, while the Ultimate Version includes a Sentinel’s hand-themed LED light-up diorama base and a mystery accessory for $390.
To complete the display, collectors can add Doom’s throne for another $210. The accessory recreates the throne’s architecture, complete with gold geometric runic details and a green stained glass-themed backdrop. That throne-room look helps explain the green glow that dominates the new showdown image.
The Fantastic Four figures have an interesting history of their own. Hot Toys revealed Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman and The Thing in July 2025, but Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch was conspicuous by his absence. Rumors suggested the company was struggling to get licensing approval from Marvel Studios for his flame effects, until an official reveal arrived later.
The earlier Mister Fantastic figure also came with interchangeable arm and leg attachments to simulate his stretching powers. Seeing him reach toward Doom in the new display suggests the team has put those parts to dramatic use. Pascal previously shared a glimpse of his blue Mister Fantastic suit from the ‘Doomsday’ set, so fans know the team’s look is carrying over.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ opens on Dec. 18, 2026, bringing together heroes from three distinct universes on a collision course with an existential threat. The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Letitia Wright as Shuri, among many others. With Doom front and center, the Fantastic Four’s role looks bigger than ever.
If this display is any indication, Marvel’s First Family is in for the fight of their lives. For collectors, it may also become one of the most eye-catching pieces in the entire ‘Doomsday’ range.
