Industry Insider Reveals What’s in Store for Thor Following ‘Secret Wars’

Chris Hemsworth has been portraying Thor for over 14 years now. His most recent solo movie, Love and Thunder, received less-than-ideal reviews from both fans and critics. Despite ongoing rumors about Hemsworth retiring from the role, the actor previously stated that he wants to continue playing Thor, and he’s stayed true to his word by joining the cast of Avengers: Doomsday.

For months, insiders have been buzzing that Thor 5 is in development. In fact, some rumors, dating back over a year, suggest that the next installment will feature a completely different tone compared to Love and Thunder.

Now, industry insider MyTimeToShineHello recently revealed what may lie in Thor’s future in the next several years.

According to MTTSH, initially, it was rumored that Avengers: Secret Wars would mark the end of Thor’s journey in the MCU. However, a new source has revealed that this won’t be the case, Thor’s story will continue beyond Secret Wars.

The same source confirmed that a fifth Thor movie is currently in development. This aligns with previous rumors about a new installment.

Unlike Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, which were directed by Taika Waititi, the next movie will not have him at the helm.

Chris Hemsworth is reportedly advocating for Sam Hargrave to direct Thor 5. Hargrave is best known for directing Extraction, an action film starring Hemsworth, which suggests that the actor might be looking for a more action-driven or gritty approach compared to Waititi’s comedic style.
