James Gunn Seemingly Teases Possible Animated Series Starring Krypto

Even before filming began, James Gunn confirmed that Krypto, Superman’s alien dog, would be part of the upcoming movie. Since then, much of the film’s marketing and promotional efforts have centered around the lovable canine.
Krypto is based on Gunn’s own pet dog, Ozu, a detail that, when revealed, drew some criticism from a portion of the fandom who felt the character wasn’t “comic-accurate.”
Now it seems that the studio has bigger plans for Krypto as James Gunn recently teased on his Instagram that he might his own standalone animated series.
One fan said that he would be happy with Krypto having his own spinoff, and James Gunn seemingly hinted that this will happen:
Of course, it’s more likely that Gunn is referring to ‘Krypto’ Short film series that was announced a while ago.
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are making four short films about Krypto. The first one will come out around September.
These short films are meant for kids and families. James Gunn said in the past will be “fun and goofy.” They are part of the new DC Universe he is building with Peter Safran.
Along with these shorts, there are other new animated shows like DC Super Powers, Starfire, and My Adventures with Green Lantern.
