MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy are venturing into their last voyage on May 5, 2023, when the final part of the trilogy comes out in cinemas. We already know that the movie has had incredible reviews on test screenings and that it’ll be an emotional rollercoaster.
However, we didn’t know how much will it tie into the bigger picture of MCU’s future, as James Gunn transferred to DCU, and the future of the Guardians of the Galaxy is uncertain. And, while we probably won’t know any details until the movie actually premieres, the director spilled the beans on some crucial info about the movie’s ending.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will have two post-credit scenes
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 press tour is well underway, with many cast members, along with the director James Gunn, touring worldwide, attending events, and advertising the show before its premiere.
James Gunn is active on all social platforms, sharing insider views into the tour and film. That’s actually where some important information about GotG Vol. 3 was shared. Gunn shared a photo on Instagram from the tour, sharing a moment from their day off:
In the comments, however, one fan asked if Guardians of the Galaxy had a cool post-credits scene. It’s a reasonable question, seeing that GotG Vol. 3 is dubbed as the team’s last hoorah, so it’s unsure how much it’ll tie into the MCU’s bigger picture. That’s when the director answered:
“There is not a post-credit scene. There are two.”
That is a very important piece of info for Marvel fans because it gives us more to speculate on what to expect. My expectations are that one scene will be a classic GotG gag while the other will play into the MCU’s future more.
I’ll go out on a limb and bet that it’ll show us what Adam Warlock is up to after the film and how his presence may change that further narrative of the MCU.
Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotion
The director wasn’t shy about sharing some important information about the movie before. He shared that the movie will focus on rounding out the individual storylines of each character from the Guardians franchise, but especially Rocket.
We’ll learn more about his backstory and how he became who he is and meet some of his old friends. We can also expect at least one major character’s death.
Honestly, I’m getting ready to be an emotional trainwreck as I leave the theater because the Guardians are my favorite MCU franchise, and I’m already sad that it’s coming to an end.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres on May 5, 2023.
