Joe Locke Would Like an Opportunity to Explore Billy’s Guilt After ‘Agatha All Along’

Agatha All Along ended fairly recently, but the series became a surprising hit and it potentially did a lot for the future of the MCU, especially if the creative team behind the project decides to explore the magical realm of Marvel’s stories.

Aside from Hahn’s Agatha and Plaza’s Lady Death, Joe Locke’s Wiccan (Billy Maximoff) was the series’ standout character and he is without a doubt one of the most refreshing MCU newcomers in recent years.

Locke’s charismatic interpretation of Billy has been praised and Locke himself has spoken about the character. In a recent interview, he revealed why he would like to come back to the role at one point.

This was, in fact, a much larger interview about Locke’s path to the role of Wiccan, in which he revealed many interesting details. He actually revealed that he had no idea which role he was auditioning for.

As he said, “they didn’t ever explicitly tell me until the sixth audition, but Casting Director Sarah Finn, I remember her being like, “It’s a character that we’ve seen before, but a grown-up version.” And I was like, “Oh, it has to be Billy.” That was my third audition, but then they didn’t explicitly [tell me]. It wasn’t until they sent me the scripts and then I was like, “Oh, O.K., so it is him.” But I knew it was, but they hadn’t ever said it out loud.”

Among the many things he talked about was Billy’s role in the MCU, i.e., whether Joe Locke thinks that Billy becomes a hero by the end of the show or not.

“No. No. He holds a lot of guilt through the fact that he’s killed three of his friends by accident. And if I ever get to play him again, I hope that I’ll be able to rack into that more. He’s not a bad person, but he has done bad things. Whether he likes it or not, his actions caused three people to die,” Locke answered.

This definitely opens up a lot of possibilities for the future, and we also hope that Locke will get the chance to explore the character more.
