Jonathan Bailey has spent September proving that he is as comfortable in front of a fashion camera as on a film set. His latest L’Officiel Hommes moment is the perfect capstone to an already busy month.

Bailey, 38, is best known globally for playing Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’, and he stunned in ‘Wicked: For Good’ in November 2025. He also starred in ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ in 2025 and was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive that year.

That momentum explains why fashion magazines keep coming back to him. On September 29, a set of moody new photos from L’Officiel Hommes started making the rounds online, giving fans a fresh look at Bailey in full dark-romance mode.

The photos lean heavily into black. In the first shot, Bailey wears a black velvet jacket over a black tee, with a wide black satin belt cinched at the waist and loose black trousers. Dark sunglasses and tousled, curly hair complete the look.

In the second frame, he leans against a wall of ornate orange-gold damask beside veined marble while looking down at his phone. It is a moody, candid setup that contrasts the casual gesture with the luxurious surroundings.

The shoot follows a big few weeks on the fashion circuit. On September 21, Bailey sat front row at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2027 show at Chelsea College of Arts during London Fashion Week, where fans quickly noticed his new curly, shaggy bangs.

He was joined by guests including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jason Statham, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rachel Brosnahan, Joel Edgerton, Gemma Chan and Nara Smith. Bailey is not an official Burberry ambassador, but he has a clear relationship with the brand and joined its Spring campaign, ‘The Trench: Portraits of an Icon’, alongside Teyana Taylor, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jack Draper.

He also made news off the runway earlier this month, when he withdrew from the planned West End revival of ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ at the Barbican Centre in summer 2027.

This is not Bailey’s first time working with the fashion title. In spring 2021, he appeared on a digital cover of L’Officiel Hommes Italia Issue 26, photographed by Jason Hetherington and styled by Gaultier Desandre Navarre.

That cover paired a Hermès pull with Fendi shorts and a Z Zegna scarf, and the inside story featured designs from brands like Dior Men, Gucci, JW Anderson and Salvatore Ferragamo. At the time, he was riding the wave of his ‘Bridgerton’ breakout.

Fashion has become a steady part of his public life. Before this year’s Burberry appearance, he attended the brand’s show in London in September 2025, and he also sat front row at Christian Dior’s Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear show in Paris on October 1, 2025.

Paris Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2027 is now under way and runs through October 6, marking the closing act of fashion month.

Bailey’s off-screen priorities have also been in the spotlight. USA Today reported that he planned to dedicate 2026 to supporting LGBTQ+ people in the UK, and he has since launched the Shameless Fund, his philanthropic foundation.

A luxury label has even released a limited run of t-shirts in collaboration with the fund, supporting the actor’s mission. Even so, he still has new acting work on the way.

Online, the response to the L’Officiel Hommes photos was immediate. Many fans praised the dark, romantic style, saying the velvet, satin and curls give him a mysterious edge.

Others said they still prefer his classic ‘Bridgerton’ style, while some said they are more excited to see his upcoming acting projects than his fashion shoots.

How does his dark-romance L’Officiel Hommes look compare with his classic Bridgerton charm?
