Kathryn Newton Calls ‘Quantumania’ ” The Easiest Job of Her Life”

More than a year ago, Phase 5 kicked off with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.’ The concept of the Multiversal Saga was highly exciting for the fans, especially with the prospect of Kang the Conqueror being introduced in the movie, as a new main villain for the next several phases.

The movie however fell flat both in commercial and critical sense. It received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. While some praised Jonathan Majors’ portrayal of Kang as a thrilling villain, others criticized the film for lacking the spark and fun of its predecessors.

Now 14 months after the release Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie Lang aka Stature, described the movie as the easiest job of her life during an interview with CinePOP. When asked about the comparison between working on the horror film ‘Abigail’ and the third Ant-Man installment, Newton shared her thoughts:

I think the Marvel movie, actually. But I don’t know… This was, physically, actually harder than Ant-Man. Ant-Man was the easiest job of my life. It was really fun… And this one was just as fun, but it was different. We had a real set, we had real props, real people. So whatever inspiration you get is from what’s happening right in front of you and I didn’t have to make it up, there was no green screen. And that was much more freeing than I was prepared for.

Kathryn’s feelings are understandable, due to its unique Quantum Realm setting much of the ‘Ant-Man’ movie was filmed with the help of a green screen, several notable actors in the industry so far pointed out that various new technologies take away from the old-fashioned experience of making a movie, with real people, on real sets.

No matter how Kathryn feels about the movie, we’re certain that she will return to the franchise. While ‘Quantumania’ herself left the fate of the character up in the air when it comes to future appearances, ‘The Marvels’ showed us an initiative started by Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel in which she aims to gather a team of young superheroes aka Young Avengers, and one of the names she mentioned is that of Cassie Lang.
