Feige has previously acknowledged that Blade became a casualty of prioritizing quantity over quality, a shift he tied directly to pressure to fill out Disney+ programming during a period of rapid expansion across the franchise. That admission reframes Blade’s delays as symptomatic of a larger studio-wide problem rather than an isolated production issue unique to this one film.
Despite the blunt self-assessment, Feige’s comments do not appear to signal the project’s cancellation. Ali himself has continued to express enthusiasm about eventually stepping into the role, telling reporters at press events that he remains ready whenever Marvel calls.
