Photos that started spreading online have people talking about a weekend outing involving actress and singer Mckenna Grace and the rest of ‘Scooby-Doo’ Cast dressed in full medieval-style outfits at a Renaissance fair.

The information comes from photos shared on social media, where fans quickly picked up on the group’s costumes and started trying to figure out what was going on.

The photos point to a casual trip to a Renaissance fair, not a movie set. The group just showed up in full costume and treated it like a fun day out together.

In the images, Mckenna Grace stands out in shiny armor with a sword, while her friends wear their own fantasy-style outfits.

One reaction from a fan online summed up the confusion. It said, “I thought it was part of a series, but they just went to a Renaissance fair… their costumes look somewhat elaborate for just a visit among friends!”

A live-action Scooby-Doo: Origins is currently in development at Netflix, produced by Berlanti Productions. The series was first reported in April 2024, with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg attached as writers, and executive production led by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Jonathan Gabay, and Adrienne Erickson of Midnight Radio.

By March 2025, the project had officially moved into production planning and was confirmed to consist of eight episodes.

Casting updates were revealed gradually. In December 2025, Frank Welker was announced to reprise his long-running voice role as Scooby-Doo. In February, Mckenna Grace joined the cast as Daphne Blake, a role she had previously voiced as a younger version in Scoob!. In March, additional casting announcements confirmed Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.

By April, Netflix officially revealed the title Scooby-Doo: Origins and confirmed that the series had entered active production in Atlanta.

Overall, the project has progressed from early development in 2024 to full production by 2026, assembling a new live-action cast while also bringing back Frank Welker’s iconic voice performance.
