Mckenna Grace Debuts ‘Scooby-Doo’s’ Daphne at Texas Comic Con — Fans Get a New Look
McKenna Grace made a surprise appearance at Texas Comic Con, where she showed up dressed as Daphne Blake from the Scooby-Doo franchise to honor her upcoming role. The moment quickly drew attention from fans at the event, with photos and reactions spreading online soon after.
Grace, known for her roles in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and The Handmaid’s Tale, leaned fully into the look of Daphne Blake, one of the most recognizable characters in animation history.
Her outfit reflected the character’s classic style, with the familiar color theme and fashion-forward design that has defined Daphne since her first appearance in Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! in 1969.
Daphne Blake has long been a key member of Mystery Inc., known for her confidence, style, and role in solving mysteries alongside Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, and Fred. Over the years, the character has appeared in multiple animated series, films, and live-action adaptations, which has kept her relevant across generations of fans. Grace’s appearance highlighted how strongly the character still connects with audiences today.
A live-action Scooby-Doo: Origins is in development at Netflix from Berlanti Productions, with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg writing and Greg Berlanti and others executive producing. The series will consist of eight episodes and was confirmed to be in production in March.
Principal photography began in early 2026 in Atlanta, with the project officially entering production in April 2026. Frank Welker will return as the voice of Scooby-Doo, while McKenna Grace will play Daphne Blake, alongside Tanner Hagen as Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred.
