Latest ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Set Photos Debunk Major Recast That Was Supposed To Take Place

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most talked-about upcoming MCU projects, partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted. 

Later it was announced that the new version of the show would be more akin to the continuation of the original Netflix series, with many actors reprising their roles. Carlie Cox will return to reprise his role as Daredevil, and D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Jon Bernthal will portray Frank Castle, aka the Punisher. Margarita Levieva plays Heather Glenn, a love interest of Matt Murdock. Michael Gandolfini appears as Daniel Blade, and Genneya Walton plays BB Urich, a young journalist. Clark Johnson is cast as Cherry, and Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman. Zabryna Guevara portrays Sheila Rivera. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page, Murdock’s friend and partner. Elden Henson returns as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Murdock’s best friend and law partner.

While it’s obvious that almost all major names from Netflix’s show will return to reprise their roles before the production even started it was announced that Wilson Fisk’s wife, Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, was recast and will be played by Sandrine Holt.

Now the latest set photos resurfaced and we’re glad to see that Ayelet Zurer will return to reprise her old role, while Sandrine deleted her former social media posts announcing that she scored the role.

We’re glad to see Zurer back in her old role, her chemistry with D’Onofrio was exceptional. If you’re worried that the studio will go back on its decision, you can rest easy. The filming for part 1 was officially concluded last week, while part 2 is scheduled to begin shooting near the end of 2024.
