Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny and Timothée Chalamet Star in Adidas 2026 World Cup Ad Trailer
Adidas has released a new trailer for its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, and it is packed with big global names from sports, music, and film. The update comes from Adidas and FIFA, who shared the promotional video ahead of the tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, starting on June 11 and running until July 19. With the tournament getting closer, brands have started rolling out major promotional campaigns, and Adidas is one of the first to go big with a star-heavy ad.
The new trailer features Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny, and actor Timothée Chalamet, along with several other well-known figures from football and entertainment. It also includes David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Trinity Rodman, Jude Bellingham, and many others.
In the video, fans noticed a special moment where different football jerseys are shown. It starts with Lionel Messi’s classic blue and white Argentina shirt, followed by jerseys linked to stars like Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Trinity Rodman, and Bad Bunny. The clip ends with Timothée Chalamet’s own fictional lavender jersey with the number 26.
One part of the trailer that stood out shows Chalamet speaking with Bad Bunny. He says, “What do I know about soccer? Nothing. I know about football, Benito. Football.” This moment quickly caught attention online and added a playful tone to the campaign.
The ad also shows a street-style football game where different stars appear and support the action. Messi, Zidane, and others are shown watching and reacting, while clips of players like Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Pedri, Raphinha, Florian Wirtz, and Santiago Giménez appear throughout the video. It also introduces three young players named Isaak, Ruthie, and Clive.
The campaign has already received strong reactions from fans online. Many people praised the mix of celebrities and football stars, while others talked about how unexpected it was to see Timothée Chalamet included in a World Cup ad.
Earlier this year, Chalamet also spoke about his involvement in the campaign during an interview on France Inter, confirming his role in the Adidas promotion for the tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will open on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, marking the start of one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
